Hi everyone,
I spent last three hours reading forums and links, but looks like I really need your help...
I have been an EQ1 player for more than one year back to 1999, really enjoyed it (sometimes also in an addictive form) but decided to quit because it was turning out to be a game that you had to play for 5-6 hours non-stop to get something cool out of it. This especially because all skilled people, including me, was tired to "go to Sebilis and Karnor" (if somebody here understands me...), and the game turned out to play in raids that you knew when they started but did not know when they finished, making life and time impossible to be managed.
The upcoming of the expansions and new areas didn't help much by that time, as all people playing was interested in crazy "epic quests", raiding high-end areas to have the uber equipment. Almost noone was interested in exploring the new dungeons when the reward in terms of items didn't worth the visit, and that was the biggest problem I had to face.
But I loved the game mostly for the environment, for the skills required, and for the emotions of exploring new places and areas.
Considering my experiences and what I read, I will list what is interesting and not interesting for me hoping that some good soul will give me a hand in order to not make me loose time.
What I want: Fantasy environment (EQ style), where level of graphics not so important, different adventures and places to be explored, easy to group (I am not solo lover) with skilled and mature people, where loot and levelling is not all, that gives me the possibility to manage my time (I don't have to stay on PC for 6 hours because of a guildmember's epic dedicated raid), that allows me to do some casual play (say one or two hours without commitments) and some more serious (raids, dungeon exploring). Funny and involving quests also a plus, not in the "epic-style" kind.
Not important for me: Costs, PvP, Role Playing.
Thanks in advance for your help.
