forget it. notebooks and laptops in general are not designed or really ment to be high end gaming rigs. they are ment for school and work. if you want to tweek out a top of the line gaming rig your better off with a desktop as the parts are cheaper and easier to upgrade then any notebooks on the market.
not saying you wont beable to find a decent notebook to use as a weak gaming rig... but ultimately your better off with a desktop.
yes i know but i need a notebook thats the prob
i got a normal rig but i m traveling a lot and i need my daily dose

ASUS G72GX-RBBX05
P8700, 6gb RAM, 17.3screen, 500g HDD, 260M 1g GFX, 8 cell lithium battery all for $999
^^^^^ Agree with your choice Ikonic. Very good gaming laptop for the price. If you have a local Best Buy around you, you can go to the store and check it out first.
You can get this ASUS ($1399) and the 2-year extended warranty ($99) for around $1500.

I have an Asus laptop myself atm, and they are head and shoulders above the competition imho.

I'd recommend waiting until Ati releases its Radeon HD 5000 series GPUs in a few weeks. They'll outperform anything else on the market, and they'll do it consuming less power and less heat. Even for less than $1500, you could probably get something with a Mobility Radeon HD 5770, which would match or outperform the Geforce GTX260M, but would have a TDP or 25 watts instead of 75 watts (according to Notebookcheck.net), so that you could also have a notebook that was reasonably small, and got good battery life, two things you will not find in a notebook equipped with any higher end Nvidia GPU.
Here's another one from Best Buy.
