Are GW 2 servers seperated by time zones?

Like in WoW they had different servers that operated in different time zones.  Are there those distinctions in GW2, or are all the US servers located in the same time zone.  I ask because I'm a PST zone player and would prefer to choose a west coast server if there is an option.  Just wondering if anyone knew?

All are in the same timezone.

What I understood is that there's only 2 datacenters so the NA servers are physically located in 1 place in the US and the other 1 being in EU. There's no offical server types with different rulesets or different timezones so it's up to the players to roll together on the same server if they want to be playing with only west coast or whatever part folks.

Some servers are already being unoficially claimed by players for example here in EU nordic / dutch / belgian on Far Shiverpeaks in beta, DaoC vets / WvW fans on a server I forgot the name of etc.

Arenenet has left the option open to the player where he want to play.

If your a canadian that likes to play with the dutch go for it.
If your dutch and want to play with rednecks from texas go for it.

you are free to roll on whatever server you want to play, only thing you have to ask yourself is where do you life and what time is their server's prime time.

Woulnt make much sense to play on a server where 90% of the playerbase are asleep when you log in after work ;)

I know what you mean, but nothing beats 200 players bashing on the front door where you are holding on for life to stop them from comming in and use flank attacks over and over :)

But your right, the server where i played in at Beta we had 2 nations at diffrent time zone's.
When we (the dutch) where sleeping, the other nation took the whole map for us and when we waked up we only had to defend :)

Feels a littlbit as cheating tough in terms of server versus server, but in war you cannot expect to win without getting dirty ;) !!!

There are only 2 datacenters, a US one (in Texas) and a european one (in Germany). All servers within a datacenter are running with the same time settings.

Players might designate unofficial servers for specific timezones after launch, but so far there's no such thing.

That is of course the issue and why I asked the question.     :)

Being a US, West coast player, I don't necessarily want to be playing with a bunch of East Coast players who are all going to bed when I'm logging on, but since There is no designation there is no way for me to know until I start playing for awhile and seeing how the populations are shaking out.

From what I understand there will be free server transfers for some time period after release, correct?
