Apprently i was banned (and im damn sure others will be) for being not so happy with the game. i got 2 weeks because i was questioning why the mods started to suddenly in a day lock multiple threads not being positive about the game and wanting change. Most of the threads were very long and had 100-300 upvotes about the subject. Here is what i got suspended for and ...oddly enough "why" is because you cant be critcal of SE...they no likey:
"Dear Customer:
This notice is to inform you that we have suspended your access to the FINAL FANTASY XIV Forum for one or more violations of the FINAL FANTASY XIV User Agreement that occurred on 1/24/2014.
Thread Title:
"old game was better thread" now deleted? when did they start this?
Relevant sections from the FINAL FANTASY XIV Guidelines:
Posting content with the intention of criticizing either Square Enix staff or specific individuals.

?A bit weird a thread got that big, that many upvotes, got locked for no reason (if you read the last page which im sure some of you have...it wasnt off topic at all) and is now deleted from the pages and not able to be seen in my post history.
SO whats the deal? Are they not happy with a legit thread that wasnt so uppidy on the game? Why delete it when its been locked for only a day?
seems a bit shady to me.
Every action we issue is based on conclusive evidence of a violation and is reviewed for accuracy"
That thread also got locked after about a dozen pages and i want the first one to question the locking of the thread in question, you can see it from other players in other threads now, i just so happen to start a thread about it.
Lesson, dont critisize SE or they will ban you.

I am so confused as to what you said. Are you saying what i quoted isnt the truth? I can post a picture of the email if thats what you need as proof, i dint crit any person, just SE (if the post they quoted wasnt enough) The thread itself was quite popular and i can link you to a page on the forums from another thread with people saying the same thing (asking why it was pulled) if you like too.
edit: here is one that has a few people questioning it...many others on differnt threads talking about them locking threads that are critical of the game: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/141086-Disappointments-and-regrets-of-FFXIV/page14
When a game starts doing damage control it is a sure sign that the end is near.
oh they locked it along with 2 others, but only that one got deleted, though there was some bickering (pretty much every thread does tbh) the last page worth of posts were on topic still...yet only that one got removed completely.
hell half the threads on there now are just people not happy with how the games turning out and want more depth and changes. The game has potential to be good, but they tossed what made the end of 1.23 great and turned it into MMO generic #213
This game could end up good if they wanted to put some non-brain dead stuff in there...but chances are they wont do more than same old same old til its mostly dead and on the verge of F2P like 90% of MMOs post WoW.
i don't criticise anymore luckily the good developers are seeing that people want change in mmo`s.
thank goodness for crowd funding there are good games starting to be made.
as much as i want to love this game like i loved EQOA and FFXI....its too much of the same and i dont think it will change (such a shame to because quite a few people were starting to enjoy where 1.0 was ending).
maybe the new EQ will be worth while or some, like you said crowd funded MMO will bring back what i miss so much in the older MMOs (open world stuff, depth in stats/gear/combat..not action spam/flash, some real challange and tbh timesinks, not all focus on endgame and solo..ect)

No my friend. Your title from here is missing the proofs. SE did not ban you because you critical their game. They ban you because you were .. insulting their staff and/or other forum members.
And also, you did not specify that this was a forum ban ( in your title ), so people who reads the title might think that SE got crazy and start banning in-game users for trolling their forums.
Anyway... this particular line "Apprently i was banned (and im damn sure others will be) for being not so happy with the game" is also not true.
And, what should I see from that link? One user who says they start closing some threads? ( 2 in particulary ) , one who approve, other who approve that 1 was closed for ...nothing, while the other was somehow, legitly closed?
I am pretty sure that :
1) The subject of that 2 threads was discussed like...a lot and there are still topics open to share your thoughts ?
2) Beside 1, I am pretty sure that there were lots of off-topic, trolling, and shit like that on that 2 threads.
So all in all, they are covered.
Reporter: What's behind Blizzard success, and how do you make your gamers happy?
Blizzard Boss: Making gamers happy is not my concern, making money.. yes!
If they say hopping on one foot with your hand on your head and typing with the other, while webcam's on is the only way you're allowed to post on the forums, and you say no, then they are well within their rights to ban you. It's their forums, first amendment doesn't apply as the rules they say are the forums constitution. It's the same with any online forum...anywhere.
By the way, it's just a forum ban so who cares?
Yeah, If you shit on someones front lawn they can have you removed from their property. Pretty much sounds like what happend here.
You never really need to read these threads.....you can just guess.
You where skipping down the path minding your own business pointing out flaws in the game, and some SE mod jumped out of the woods and tried to steal your cookies.
How close was I ?
Close, but they were jaffa cakes, not cookies. Arguably that makes it worse.
Yet another sensationalist thread title from a 'poor little victim of the BIG EEEEVIL corporations' on the MMORPG.com forums. Move along, nothing to see here.
And no, the game isn't 'imploding' either. People saying that are just trying to spread negative word-of-mouth because they got their jaffa cakes 'stolen'.
AN' DERE AIN'T NO SUCH FING AS ENUFF DAKKA, YA GROT! Enuff'z more than ya got an' less than too much an' there ain't no such fing as too much dakka. Say dere is, and me Squiggoff'z eatin' tonight!

I knew I would get a massive laugh out of this thread. Cheers!
What do you mean by that? The end is near because "so much shit has gone down"!
What's hilarious is that the way I got banned from the official forums would have been a much better example, instead of this tro- sorry, intellectual getting what he had coming.
You know what's even more hilarious? Some of the same intellectuals here consider me as some kind of fanboy yet as I said I got banned on the OF for criticizing the game. That's what fanboys do, right? Criticize the game and get the banhammer for it.
I guess in their confusion they assumed that since I call them out on their bullshit all the time that makes me a fanboy. This "neutral" forum has more than enough irrational haters that it leaves no room for real criticism. The only reason to come here is either to bash on an MMORPG you hate so much (or the genre as a whole) or to point out the biggest fallacies the haters like to claim.

Which also applies to these forums as well, or at least it did the last time I looked at this sites agreement.
Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.
Is ToR going to be good? Dude it's Bioware making a freaking star wars game, all signs point to awesome. -G4tv MMo report.
Oh it still is. It's just more along the lines though of threads locked/deleted in this forum.
If you post about a thread locked on say FFXIV forum, then you're complaining about "Facist moderators of FFXIV." Post about a thread locked on here though, then you're along the lines of screaming at in-house staffs' faces.
So let me get this right.
You questioned their moderation, and then were suspended for it.
Lets see, if you do that on this site you will be as well...
It's pretty standard, what you did was against the rules... Play by them or don't play.
As they say, you can't beat nukes with rifles
It takes far less than that here. But then again this site is well known for being this way in a forum for a game that either is, or may advertise here.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This.
I admit to chuckling every single time someone comes here to whine about being banned over criticizing a company on their own forums. The rules are painfully apparent on their sites; feel free to chat about the game but using their site a public forum for criticism is not allowed. There are always other avenues for feedback of any kind provided but to expect them to host a forum akin to public protest rallies is ridiculous.
Freedom of speech in a free society was never about a company or country paying out of their own pocket to provide armchair debaters a method to voice discontent. It merely provides you the freedom to go out and spend your own time and money finding a way to express your opinion. That's right ... it takes initiation and effort of the individual and being banned is nothing more than a company telling you to explore your options. Their website is the ONLY power they have. It isn't even that important as you can simply vote with your wallet.
You stay sassy!
