Coldharbour treasure map

Part of the Imperial package where some treasure maps...

 

Sadly i found out when unpacking them at the starter island, i missed the one for coldharbour.....  To bad...

 

So far the treasure maps are a highlight in this game (so dont ruin them by googling them)

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

    If it was the one with the ship in it, then it wasn't the starting area of Cold Harbor... you go back there several times... so keep your eyes peeled.

    Now i feel stupid....  I didnt even look, blindly asuming it was the starter area, while i knew that you return to Couldharbor many many times...

    Doesnt change the fact that i love how there treasure maps work...  finally something that adds to immersion.. why didnt anyone else think of this before?

    That's good to know. I was disappointed also when I opened the mail after I left cold harbor heh. 

    And I agree, the maps are awesome.

    Yes, I love the way they do it.  It's hard but if you've explored and if you compare to your map, you actually may be able to figure out the general area with out too much work... assuming people explore a bit.

    Because of the new character issue all my maps are stuck on the first character I made which I have no intention of playing other than an alt. ####ing sucks but I heard you can still obtain treasure without them ... I hope.

     

    Guess I'll just use a website. ZOS should really have some things BOA. Not having this option was a very, very bad choice on their part.

    Because Red Dead Redemption and Assassins creed 4 just did it, so MMOs follow a few years after, it's how it goes.

    Oh and FF14 has a similar treasure hunting system to the ones I've mentioned as well.

    You share the same bank space with all your characters. Just put them in the bank and pick them up with your main.

    I haven't been able to put them in the bank so far. It's says you're not able to do that at this time. Hopefully that gets fixed.

     

    But loving the game!

     

    With the NA servers still down, I rolled up some EU toons. Back to the game!

    The message about not being able to put the maps into the bank... I'll guess you still haven't unpacked them?  The container of maps, so to speak, can't be put in the bank, BUT if you open and take all, then each individual map CAN be placed in the bank.

    Takes a lot of space up, but will let you transfer maps between characters.

    IIRC Ultima Online had treasure maps... And that game is as old as the street is long.

    Wait, you already got the preorder bonuses? I have only gotten the rings of Mara and the monkey pet, nothing else. I did find a treasure map while questing, but none in the mail for me.

    I thought we got them at the 4th when the games releases officially.

    Coldharbour is a 45-50 actual zone after you do the level 45 main story quest line... so its most likely in that coldharbour zone.

    You need the map to get the treasure. That said, what you got in the map were the 'urns' (looks like the urns coming out of Cold Harbor at any rate). Call them the zipped maps. Each has 8 (I think 8) maps in them. Log onto your 1st, unzip them and bank them. Any character can use.

    I (because of a horrible memory) elected to unzip them by each faction 1 at a time and then bank them. I logged on with a 'junk' character from that faction and put the maps on it. For the maps for the faction I am actually playing all the time, I did the same but kept the first 2 or 3 zone maps so i didn't bog down my bags with blue items I wasn't going to be using in the near future.

    Maps are 1 shot but any character on the account can use.

    Just an FYI to put the maps in your bank, you have to open the pack first.  I've had people ask about this in zone chat many times :)

     

    Step 1 - Find a bank

    Step 2 - Open the map packs

    Step 3 - Put them in your bank

    Step 4 - Pull them out of bank and try to find them on the character you want the items to be on :D

    P.S. One of my favorite things about this game is treasure hunting.  I could spend hours doing this, but unfortunately I usually know where they are since I played so much beta :(

    Many of us got them by mistake. When they realized this, they put a stop to it and everyone who hadn't started playing before that will get them on the 4th.
