Hey, so I'm wondering now that the game has been out awhile, are there some builds people would recommend for a beginner? When I played beta, and early access I picked the Shadow Nightblade I believe. And I'd just put all my points into Stamina. Ideas? I think I was using daggers.
The problem I noticed with whatever build I was doing, is if it wasn't a single target fight, I would basically die right away lol.

You will have to adjust armor to your style, probably mostly light armor,
Side note too- H1Z1... It's worth it.
The most enjoyable and the fastest leveling build I did was a sorc.
(As the previous person stated) destro staff when I quit was the overall end game best way.. but it was not what I used to level.
I did what people called the reaver type build. I did not follow anybody's specific build but just the general guideline choosing what worked best for me.
Dual wield, medium armor, etc. Critical surge is the main ability if I recall that you want for healing purposes. The ultimate was the fighters guild flawless dawnbreaker for the passive dmg.
Primarily focused on health and stamina and melee crit chance. I did DW the whole time it starts out a bit tough until you start opening up more abilities.
Well I have 4 character slots I'm constantly leveling 1 - 30ish and deleting so I can try something new... yes, I am an altoholic.
So I have both old and new experience with the feel of all 4 classes. And things have changed...
A few months ago I would have agreed that Sorcerers were my favorite... both the traditional ranged DPS/off-heals build or the very fun Reaver types. My main is a Destro/Resto Sorcerer.
But then the nerf bat caught up to sorcerers while the stamina builds got buffed quite a lot. Sorcerers, both my main and new ones i level, feel distinctly weaker than DKs, NBs and even Templars (at the lower levels)
My current favorite is my stamina based 5 medium + 2 heavy armor, bow + 2HD sword Nord Templar. It just kicks butt in PVE or PVP with enough AOE, self healing and damage shields to take on just about anything,

Thanks guys, I actually made a Sorc and started to follow this Reaver guide I found on the internet, it seems fun so far. Only got to level 5 though lol.
I made my character a cute kitty, so that's a plus as well.
Oy! Girls...
Those kitties are pretty deadly (specially as Nightblades) don't let the cute fool you.
Have fun

Sorc is excellent. I have a Destro/Resto sorc.....found it extremely easy to level.
Right now I'm loving 2 hand nightblade, pure stamina build.....it's a blast. Sword and board as a secondary. Check Tamriel Foundry, it's and excellent site, plus has a great mod that I recommend....Foundry Tactical Combat
Yeah, I will try Destro/Resto next I think. Having fun with my Nightblade atm. And thanks, I will check out that website.
Another good site for new players:
If you actually do want to play a Sorcerer. here's a quick and dirty beginners guide I made for someone else a couple of weeks ago. And yes, I am definitely biased against Sorcerer pets. They're apparently getting a big buff in 1.6 so maybe they'll be worth their huge Magicka reserve cost then...we'll see. But for now, stay away from them.

No, not really. You still have a shared bank and shared gold.
But I should add... if you're interested in PVP you can't have your characters from different alliances in the same PVP campaign. That didn't use to be much of an issue when there were many active campaigns but now you basically have one active 10-50 campaign and one for veteran ranks. You might want to consider that.
