Hey guys,
I wanted to ask you if WildStar is good and why. How did it change the last year and wouldyou recommend playing it?
Please write a small review and tell me if you think that it can make a comeback like ESO.

Now that it's going to be free to play, of course it's worth it. It's always been a fantastic game, but the rate of content development, slow patch cycles, and abysmally low population really hinder it's cost effectiveness as a mode of entertainment.
Combat is different, and might be something you enjoy or don't. It's a nice departure from the traditional tab-target MMOs.
However, aside from the combat, it's essentially a WoW clone in terms of content and progression. It's a very linear themepark game, with the only goal at the end being to get more gear to do more raids to get more gear. If that's your fancy, you'll be very pleased.
It's familiar enough to understand, but different enough to be appreciated.
There are already plenty of reviews around, and tbh, if they aren't enough to persuade you, then the only answer that can be made to your question is No.
No, I don't think so. The leveling was tedious and obnoxious.
ESO never went anywhere btw. Players kept playing. It's good to see the media came back to it's senses though.
Well, if you don't mind staring at the ground during combat more than at your player or mob, then sure. As far as coming back like ESO, not sure. ESO seems to be on a rollercoaster depending on media hype more than anything. Once the dust settles after the console launch we will be able to tell what the true state of PC version is at least. Again, kudos for the ESO dev team for deciding on megaserver tech during development. If they would of went with static servers like WS did, then it might have tanked even faster.

My biggest issue was the combat, it sounded good, until you actually got to see it.
Now, which one of you will adorn me today?
as f2p game it surely is worth playing.
play it, try to reach max lvl, if it's still fun in your opinion. good.
if not, whatever ^^
anyway, even with sub this game was worth playing
only prob was, not enough people. no idea, maybe they didnt like the action combat, missed their tab target or had probs getting the attunement, there could have been some reasons
"I'll never grow up, never grow up, never grow up! Not me!"
I was immediately hit with a "Been there, done that" feeling. Exclamation points and arrows everywhere. To make it worse though, each simple quest seemed to be intentionally long with extra steps and red herrings. Add in the obnoxious colors and canned laughter comedy it was just too much to handle. I never got a chance to pvp, but the videos I watched looked like a disco show with flashing lights and AoE patterns everywhere. My experience was bad to the core.
They fix a lot the optimizations then in beta or lunch, but the MMO in general is more then textures that make people lag.
I will agree with this pretty much exactly.
The only thing I would add is that there may still be a free 10-day trial. So why not just try it for yourself for only the cost of the time and disk space to download it?

I´m going to get a sub after my 30 days run out until F2P launch to get as many of the rewards out of it, I seriously hope they don´t put a cash shop button everywhere, it´s so nice at the moment to get everything in game with gameplay. Let´s hope they keep the experience for subscribers.
The housing.. OMG it´s the best thing since SWG,
Wildstar housing > other MMO housing
Rift's Dimensions are pretty cool too, but yep, if you add all the functionality and stuff, WS is great. Settlers path ftw.
Still, I'd stick to what was discussed in the other thread, don't rush that decision, wait for a few weeks before you add more months I admit, the DJ would be a nice reward... but the other sub boons are pretty meh, and also you'll see more objectively after that "new game" haze lifts
The game has come a long way, but the core problems remain. If somebody liked the game "back then", he willl probably love it now. If not, many of the same turn offs that kept players away at release are still in place.
Carbine neither has the manpower, creativity nor money to give the game a much needed boost in every department. If they couldn't do it in 7+ years of development with a full team and $$$, how would they now?
There is just not enough content and the experience is very linear altogether. On top of that, i constantly feel like i'm getting rushed through the game as everything is just so busy, urgent, in a hurry or on a timer. Tons of stuff going on on my screen all the time, incoming call here, popup there, and i'm missing those moments and locations where in other games i usually stop and smell the flowers. It's like i'm being pushed through a tube at lightspeed while getting flashy stuff thrown into my face. I think Carbine took the overall theme of a "crazy planet with constant action going on" too far over the top.
I also just can't find a class that is fun to me, as half of the classes and their abilities are too similar or plain "meh..". Usually one doesn't even buy every class-ability. Same and few animations for everyone don't help either.
Game needs more horizontal expansion asap, but i doubt it will happen at any point.
Here is my view on it: -
Things I like: -
Its pretty fun, most new people end up not liking it because its hard and requires a good portion of focus. PvP is pretty lame but I come from games like shadowbane where if you die you lose allyour stuff in your bags. Not a ton of raiding content and there is their bread and butter. Combat is a big plus, targeting combat is just about dead and games that keep that going are not doing well. This games combat does a lot of things right.
If you enjoy raiding in a hardcore environment then yes if not then no.
+1 hint to that part, the Caretaker DJ is only for those who were subscribers at the announcement of the switch, and maintain the sub until the actual switch in Fall. Later they modified it to "subbers at June 15th". Well, since the humble bundle sale started also on that day, I'd say it's a close call even if you bought your bundle right at the start and if not, then don't bother maintain it just for the rewards
(of course it still counts to the Loyalty rewards, so if you like the game still when your month is over, keep the sub)
I would recommend to at least try it.
I still believe it's a high quality game. The problem is that there are a few things that are just to much present to ignore, if you dislike it in the first place.
But you could perhaps not dislike it.
And the biggest issue is population I guess. I trailed the game with my existing account last week and I literally saw only one player in 30 minutes or so, in and around the major city. But that may change when F2P goes live.
I actually decided to start playing Wildstar after seeing some of the changes they have made over the recent months. I was all excited for this game when it came out and then I got into the Beta and so many issues I couldn't see paying $60 and $15 a month for it. I'm actually pretty happy with it now, especially since I got a great price online for it. I know its going free to play but I'm having such a good time playing that I don't mind paying $15 a month until it does go F2P.
It's completely changed as far as what it was in the Beta. The combat is fun . The quests are fun. I don't find myself looking at my level every 15 minutes wondering why its taking so long to level. I'm enjoying the game itself.
Did a few dungeon runs while leveling and as DPS I have to admit this was the most fun I've had in years in an MMO in a dungeon. The bosses were amazingly fun with all the crazy amounts of telegraphs. I thought it would be a pain, but it was fun and challenging.
The art style is fun. The sense of humor is great. The population is growing after the E3 Humble Bundle went out and had WIldstar in it and they weren't really prepared for the extra lag it would cause - but they are supposed to be fixing it or fix it today. We will see. I think once the F2P comes out the game will get better because it needs a population.
Yes!!
I bought it recently to get the benefits before it goes F2P.
...............and I really enjoy it much more than I expected.
