I just wanted to get a feel on how HoT has been received by this community. Feel free to add why you did, or didn't. Thanks.

I might end up buying it out of curiosity, but most likely not. Vanilla didn't keep me long term, so odds are HoT won't either.

But i'd probably get my money's worth as I did vanilla.

No for sure here, while I have no real complaints to offer about the game, it's not my thing in the least bit.

Might get it when it goes on sale, not willing to spend $50 on an expansion.

    Playing - FFXIV,  ESO
Played - FFXI, WoW, Lineage 2, Guild Wars, Aion, SWToR, LotRO, GW2, TERA, Rift, ArcheAge, TSW

Probably not. Its direction (read: grind and raids) doesn't interest me.

Depending on whether or not Skyforge bores me. It still hasn't.

I voted "I still might" , like you I'm waiting to see how it's received as if it might catch my interest more this time around. I only made it to 56 warrior at launch and have dabbled a few times since.

ya I was really put off by the high price of the expansion and will probably wait for it to come on sale and read more from the people that are in game now
  • IRandomIRandom Member UncommonPosts: 15
I might, but only when the price drops to sane levels. I already own the full game (so no need for me to re-purchase same thing) and no expansion is worth $50.

I bought it but haven't logged in since the last test where I got to try the scrapper.  I'm in no rush.. GW2 will always be there and I'm having a lot of fun with other games at the moment.

FYI It's Heart of Thorns not Thrones. You must have GoT on the brain man. :p
    Shame. Shame. Shame. lol changing.

The core gameplay is still boring to me, so not returning.

I ended up grabbing it today.  I started fresh and we'll see where it heads.

Bought and paid for. Can't wait to explore the new areas with my Reaper.

50.00 is too steep for an expansion. I don't really like the new direction they are taking. I can get that experience in other games and likely in a better way. The living story writing was atrocious. I just can't see myself paying for more of that. I hope others enjoy it.

I'll consider if it goes down to $25.00 as I quit the vanilla game soon after hitting the level cap.  I hated instances and WvWvW

If it goes on sale at a deep discount -- $9.99 -- I might grab it. I've spent plenty of money on gems in the past, so I'm not a freeloader. I don't mind spending money on a game that I play. What I don't care for is another game with a focus on raiding more gear grinding. Enough people cried about the "lack of progression" so now GW2 is breaking out the old tried and true raiding endgame. Not for me.

    Probably not anytime soon.

I don't like the direction they are going with the game.

    Nope.   Reason?  NCSoft.

If you are holding out for the perfect game, the only game you play will be the waiting one.

they made a couple of pretty new zones

too bad, they forgot to put in some regular quests

this is exactly the same kind of zerg content, we also had in silver wastes

pretty disappointed about this one, this is maybe 1/3 of a wow expansion

they wont get another cent from me in the future

Dunno how people can play GW2 after so long still... that skill system is the biggest turn off.
