Once in PSO2 I bought a char slot and then deleted a character. In pso2 you just buy the ability to make a new character not so much the slot. Silly me. Should of read the harigana better.
I think it was like some 14 bucks usd? 3200 yen or some shit.
Regretted maxxing my priest in wow wod, bought a max out level for another class and burned out 1 hour later. I curse myself for 1. paying for what I consider the worst feature in wow history, 2. not realizing there was already a free max out with wod, and 3. for not realizing how much I was already sick of wow. If anyone see me considering playing wow again, you are permitted to kick me hard right where it hurts.
I've bought literally thousands of dollars of in-game items across dozens of games but I can't think of a single bad purchase. This is mostly because I'm paranoid about what I spend my money on and I research the hell out of things first.
That being said, a few things that I have purchased were made obsolete over time. Such as the first Gold tank I bought in WoT: The Lowe. It's pretty much useless in World of Autoloaders, but it was a fantastic tank for about a year.
I bought a couple of guns in Planetside 2 which were great at the time, but since then they have released better weapons for that class. I got good use out of them when I bought them, and they aren't "bad" now, just not optimal.
In EVE, all I have ever bought are PLEX. Mostly because CCP doesn't know the meaning of "micro" transaction and every single thing in their cash shop is hilariously over priced. Luckily you can buy everything offered in their cash shop on the in-game market too.
Well I didn't actually made the purchase myself but I did pay for it. I had my CC connected to my LoL account. A friend of mine was playing with my account and he thought it's funny to unlock the remaining 40 champs and buy all the skins.

Well idk if it i considered the same thing but my purchase of a game package for Skyforge was the biggest mistake ever for me.Was not happy at all, wish i could have that money back,i could buy one helluva yummy pizza and wings combo and a couple Redbull to boot.

100 bones over 4 months on service tokens in wildstar... (Albeit I should have just used plat) Only to quit again for a third time... 120 spellslinger account for sale, 100 bones.
buying keys for damn rng boxes in Neverwinter.. thinking that it coudl make some gold... bought about 5-10 keys then realised how they screw you over.. no more since then only things like bag space or permanent mining picks/wood cutters in wildstar etc
edit
would also add some early access as well whilst i see the game and think why not just throw 20-30 quid at it. then get bored in 2 weeks lol
Buying SoE cash for an EQ1 expansion (which is how I obtained expansions every year), only to realize that SoE changed their policy and expansion could only be obtained by direct purchase.
I mean there was a $50 Sony cash card that you buy for real money - and suddently you can't use it to buy a $30 expansion.
Was my last day playing EQ1, switched permanently to P99.
Lol, I overlooked this post. I did the same thing with EQ2, was going to buy the Tears of Veeshan expansion -- well, intended to -- only to find that it couldn't be bought with station cash. Bought an 85 heroic SK with the station cash instead and said screw it to the expansion.
Of course I got every penny back including original 150 as my CC company agreed with me on "product didn't meet expectations" selection I chose for the chargeback.
Probably a mount and some other junk in Neverwinter. I reasoned at the time that It was less than I would've payed if Neverwinter was a sub game. I later found out the game was P2W up the nose and they had no idea what they were doing with it.
Not a big loss but it's made me wary of spending money on cash shop items.
Of course I got every penny back including original 150 as my CC company agreed with me on "product didn't meet expectations" selection I chose for the chargeback.
My worst purchase that i still regret today, a $50 mount in Perfect World International back in 2009(i think it was 2007 iirc).
Havent spent a dime in an asian F2P until recently in B&S, a couple things that were far more useful and a lot cheaper. I still think i should have bought a full game instead of supporting that garbage PW.
Still today when i use the cash shop i remember that day, then walk away from the cash shop.
I've spent a ton of cash of garbage in mmos throughout the years. I pretty much chalk it all up to a loss. Everything seems like a good idea at the time.
Of course I got every penny back including original 150 as my CC company agreed with me on "product didn't meet expectations" selection I chose for the chargeback.
This works with any online game - players have been abusing this option "didn't meet expectations" for years to play games for free and stick online companies with charge back fees.
CC companies don't really need any proof and will give you your money back.
Yes , but that was the one chargeback ( out of say 10 total in 20 years or so ) that the rep immediately refunded with zero wait time , no investigation nor response from the company needed nor allowed , because Trion was "flagged" with them .
Why might that have been , what could possibly have caused Trion to be "flagged" with major CC company during the timeframe of a month post AA launch ?
I can't imagine.
I did chuckle at it though , and enjoyed Trion getting hit with three chargeback fees alone from me for AA.
Of course I've spent many thousands over the years in other mmos and not had cause for charge backs on them.
Personally , I'm glad Steam allows refunds now , a s CC companies side with their good customers , because finally software companies can't peddle pure shit and not have repurcussions.
And I abused nothing , my CC says I can do a chargeback if I find the product doesn't meet my expectations , so why shouldn't I have ? It was true that neither AA at launch nor Trions management of it did.
But the best , the BEST , part of doing it in the case of AA were forum warriors telling me and others that we "couldn't do a chargeback because if we did we did we would ruin our credit".
I could charge a small house on the CC that I did the one for AA on , but yes , yes they definitely were upset with me for doing the few hundred total chargeback.
I regret putting money into a game that shuts down.
Thats why i changed my ways a while back and now i rather sit back and watch when it comes to F2P.
You happily give them money to support them while the rest of the community plays for free. The game shuts down and its your loss. You never know how many people support the game. Excluding whales because they spent stupid amounts ill never spend in this life.
No TY. Not taking that risk anymore. Change business model or shut down alone.

50% off was too good to pass up so spent like $50.00 for these all character, "life time" items.
The game closed 2 weeks later.
Might have been the last cash shop purchase I ever made.

Yeah definitely.
I think i stuck 200$ in and played it for maybe 2 months, at the time i figured I'll go back, its fine, i wont need to put any money into it again.
But It's just cash shops galore now, and i regret ever supporting trion.
