Banned hacker whining video

Want some insight into the rationalizations of the clueless hacker? Well you're in luck.

This guy hacked, got caught and had both of his accounts banned... and then in a remarkable display of clueless narcissism he posted a video trying to portray himself as Robin Hood and took the video down when he didn't get the sympathy he was looking for but not before someone made a copy of it.

The thread in the BDO forums:  http://forum.blackdesertonline.com/index.php?/topic/80109-hacker-banned-from-bdo-makes-a-video-crying/&page=1

The 9 minute video:

Hmm... this page doesn't seem to exist.

Anyways, it's like robbing a bank everyday and being surprised when you got caught.

Hacker doesn't know why hacking is wrong. That's why we can't have nice things.

Hacker can barely express a coherent thought. Everything he says seems conflicted.

Hooray! a verifiable and recognizable voice for this A$$hat!
    Scum of the internet .......Check.
    Idiot for hacking.............. Check.
Deserved what he got ... Check.

I've always wondered - when the day will come that online gaming companies share data on "hacking" accounts results in people being red flagged as potential hackers when their info or IP shows up in a database of potential hackers.
  • PhryPhry Member LegendaryPosts: 11,004
Well, it was an interesting video, i must admit i was a bit curious as to the mindset of hackers, though whether he is atypical is perhaps a stretch. After his first account was banned, he went on to do the same thing on his main account because, 'he was going to leave anyway?' sounds too much like he was really persuading himself, i don't know if he was that convincing to others? Also the 'he was hacking to get good items to others that they might not otherwise get' seriously? so many excuses. He even excused away his killing others with hacks because they were against what he was doing, i mean WTF, he killed them because they didn't like that he was hacking?
By the sound of things at least he was just soloing it while hacking, but there are people out there, who work as a team while hacking, there is only one thing that hackers do in games, they ruin them, despite whatever excuses they try to use to condone their own behaviour.

Another video, from perhaps the other perspective, of those being hacked, may even be related to the video the OP found.

"i put a lot of time in to playing BDO"

He says.... BDO came out in march.... And here you have why the MMO genre is changing... =P

also "how am i hurting the economy..." "i do not know how much money i gave out"

This guy is a bit soft i think.

This have been a good conversation

Hes super upset that he got banned for hacking. His reasoning is "I got my game taken away for playing how I wanted to play" that's the dumbest excuse ever. He also stated that his alternate account got banned first for hacking. Well then why the hell would he go do it on his main account directly after that. There's no reasoning behind that, that could make any sense at all. I can understand his want to hack because he feels like he can't pour enough time into the game, but at the same time, you don't have to be the best. If you are cheating to be the best, then you aren't the best, you are just a cheater.

Self rationalisation, basically he knows he did something wrong, but he's trying to make excuses to himself about it, not very well thought out ones really.
He's obviously not a bad person, but he got caught with his hand in the cookie jar and he's trying to excuse it away by saying, well i need to get rid of all the cookies so i can have something else instead, only, those cookies were for other people. :o

The fact that this game can be hacked 100% Client Side is pathetic even if the Cash Shop wasn't so bad I would have quit the game over this already.

Let us all gather around and shame another transgressor. Shame. Shame.

Why can't we force our shunned to walk through the street naked, like that actress on Game of Thrones?

On second thought... no, please, keep his clothes on.

I dont think most cheaters actually consider what they are doing as cheating.....From gaming to sports to school to relationships.

That's probably true. There are a couple of other things at work here though, IMHO.

I see a clear path from single player game cheating with trainers and console commands as well as with self-cheating by using spoilers and Prima or internet walkthrough guides in those same SPGs. It's just a small step to take that to online gaming if that's what they do when playing alone.

This guy was also a Twitch streamer apparently. That might explain why he thought it was a good idea to reveal his weird rationalizations... his fans wanted it, you know :)
