Skill?

Is there any MMORPG's that require skill and the best players aren't the players that play the most they're the players that actually require their brain power?

    I doubt it honestly.

Because such a game will appeal only to casuals, but maybe.  A hardcore player would be done in a week or two and pass to something else. :)

Sure, they are called CounterStrike, Tribes, Quake, etc...

If you are going to count your personal skill, than these games are RPG's, because the more YOU play the more EXPERIENCE you gain, and the higher your SKILL gets. These are the traits of a traditional RPG, where the character gets the skill gains and the XP.

Neocron (I think that is it) is a true FPS MMROPG. It is FPS and you actually have to aim and shoot (your real skill), but your character also gains skills.

Lag makes skill in MMOGs a very difficult component.

In Neocron, you have this big aiming reticle which zooms in on a target. The higher a certain skill is (different weapons skills, aiming, etc.), what type of weapon you are using (long range vs short range), and how far your target is, determines how this aiming reticle aims, your accuracy, and your damage to that target (damage is also determined by what kind of ammo you are using). It's a pretty decent system for a RPG, but it's not heavily based on real world aiming skills as in a normal FPS. It's definitely an alternative to the usual turn-based system found in other MMORPGs.
