I'm going to be trying the trial of the isle anyway but I have some other questions.

Are there many guilds, and are there many willing to take on a semi-casual player and show them the ropes?

What is the end-game like? and as someone who only really has free time on sunday night/monday/tuesday (I work weekends) will I be able to participate in it.

Is the Grind bad, is it better/worse in groups?

Is there organised PvP on PvP servers? And is there any point to PvPing? (are there objectives to fight for?)

And finally, is there inflation in the economy due to twinks, and if so is it as bad as WoW?

Thanks to anyone who replies.

Yes, there are many many guilds. You don't need a specific mentor. The community is great and you can generally post any questions in the chat window ( /ooc /shout or /say ) and someone will answer.

PvP and raiding. Though, with this game, you never really reach the end game. They're releasing expansions constantly. In all the years I've played, I have yet to actually reach an end game.

I don't mind the grind. Other people can't help but complain about it. It's the journey of getting to end game, it's not the end game itself that matters. As for groups, I don't like grouping because you must do what the group does so I can't really tell you.

Good questions. Can't answer them because I simply LOATH  PvP so I never play it.

Yes, of course. Just like in every other game. You learn to ignore it. It's not that bad though you'll find that you'll pay alot for rares if you're trying to buy them off the broker instead of farm them yourself.

Endgame is mostly raiding or PvP but there are a couple long questlines as well.  The raids are relatively short if your guild has a handle on them and they are mostly instanced so guilds generally have a set raid day and time.  Just find a guild with compatible times and there should be no problem.

It depends, if your primary goal is to reach 70 and get all your AA points then you can do that fairly quickly by joining xp groups.  If you quest, craft a little, make sure you hit all the parts of the major dungeons, do all the heritage quests work on a few different titles, do some guild writs, etc it will take you a *lot* longer to reach 70.

Is there organised PvP on PvP servers? And is there any point to PvPing? (are there objectives to fight for?)  There are no real organized objectives but when you kill someone you get to loot some of the gold and items they were carrying.  Attuned items are safe, I believe so you can’t loose the equipment you are wearing.  You also get special status points you can trade for equipment, including legendary and fabled pieces.

And finally, is there inflation in the economy due to twinks, and if so is it as bad as WoW?

People complain about it, but lets face it you are never going to keep up with a twink in any game.  Low level items do cost a lot, but you can make a crafter fairly quickly so you can make some decent stuff for yourself.  The flipside of the this is that may low level items bring in some very nice coin, so a few houses of farming collectables, harvesting for rares in Antonica/Commonlands, etc can give you enough coin to be reasonably well equipped.

Depends what server you choose to play on, on EU it's posible to find some guilds thats only casual players.

I find it easy to be in 2 - 4 raids a week, even thou i need to go early to bed, some of the x4 instances are fast to complete, others can take longer time. Problem is that most casual guilds raids in the weekends

Grinding is easy at low lvl's, if you have good equipment then its faster to lvl alone, at higher lvls it's better to be in grps, also cus you can get legendary and fabled items easier then.

On the server im on, we have some arranged pvp fights, but since we molest all in x3 and x4 fights then its hard for us to find someone to kill, I have no idea about the US Servers

And finally, is there inflation in the economy due to twinks, and if so is it as bad as WoW?
There are many twinks on the server im on, but most stop between 22 and 25, so some people makes 2 twinks one around 22 - 23 and one around 30.

    Thanks to anyone who replies.
