World of warcraft in my honest opinion pushed mmorpg's (online games) to the next level.
This is a joke right? World of Warcraft added NOTHING to the MMO genre. It;s selling poin is that it took all the best features from generation 1 and 2 MMO's and highly polished them. Now this isn't a bad thing, but I would never call that pushing mmo's to the next level.
Another hit against it is World of Warcraft has caused envy from other companies. the end result is "dumbed down" gameplay. I personally believe Lucasarts saw the numbers World of Warcraft was having and they said "We want that!" Which resulted in the NGE.
And finally community. I have played MMO;s for a LONG time, and you'll find jerks in every MMO. But when I played World of Warcraft it felt like I was surrounded by obnoxious kids. In the end of all the things that made me quit the game it was the community.
After my opinion, it is the popularity that has made wow so much hated I played wow when the first betas came out, and a few months after it came out. I then took a long break beacuse of education and finnancial issues and recently strated to play again.
Back when it first came out, wow was a joyfull game with lots of fun and good rpg players.
When i play wow now, #There is a quue on almost every server #I get a repairbill after almost every instance run, beacuse someone screw up or doesnt know how to play #Im having problems with ignoring annoying and childish people who spams me beacuse my ignore list is litteraly full #Everything in the game is overpriced
Wow has becomed known by everyone and therefore has all kinds of people playing it. Even people who have never touched a computer plays the game beacuse they think its cool..
I have nothing against the game itself. I actually think its a good game, but its all the stupid players that really bothers me..
Im sure someone allready have posted something like this, but i just had to get it out after alot of frustration on my first day back in the game >_<
