Economy Question?

Hello Everyone,

Simple Question really, as an ex-SWG player and an Ex-devoted Harvester I was wondering how the economy of the game is doing. If my memory serves me right didn't the economy be player-driven? I'm a big fan of player driven economies as they can play an important part in a games enjoyment for me!

Is it even still player-driven, with all the changes being made I'd expect $OE to have changed it somehow! I noticed in my last months of playing how the economy went down the pan! I could sell a tiny amount of Fiberplast for top credits which at the time was great for business. Like I said I was a devoted Harvester and spent most of my time managing a business of sorts (was great fun).

by the way, does Sentinel Hill still exist on Tatooine on the Ahazi server and if it does who runs it?

Loot sells , not many crafters left because loots tend to be better in all cases everyone has millions when you do legacy by 25 ish you are a millionaire.

Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

  • thats kind of sad, sounds like WoW now! there was a lot of crafters once! well anyhow thanks for telling me!

SWG still has a player run economy, there are no NPCs you can buy stuff from.  Everything you might want to buy, you do still have to buy it through another player, so prices are all decided by the players.  Yes, there are more loot options, but the only loot that is better then crafted are weapons.  There are of course things that don't drop as loot, such as furniture, houses, harvestors, etc :P

Only if it's a weapon. Loot is generally trash and most people don't want to deal with it. I sell all my loot for 5k each on a junk vendor and it sells very very little. The only loot that is worth anything is the quest rewards and yes they do screw a munitions trader badly however he makes up for it with armor.

So in 1 case you are correct, in all the rest you are wrong.

And I don't remember a million every being hard to ge tin the game. Perhaps you were doing something wrong before?

maybe not 1 million but tell me... how much was a mando healmet before and how much is it now?

i saw a guy spaming it for 80 mil... yeah... you try to get 80 mil as a fighter in pre-Cu

if you are a crafter you have no use for a mando healmet, exept maybe for decoration (and crafters may  be the only class who has ridiculous amounts of money in pre-Cu but)

And you know for a fact this guy wasn't from Pre-CU or had a crafter at some point in his career?

I am really not seeing your point. I actually had far more money pre-cu then I ever have now and I have 3 crafters. Most of that is because of my own laziness but I would really love to hear the conspiracy theory on how the legacy quest is ruining the economy.

    not on bria anyway

and in 2 weeks(1-2 hours a day) i made 6 million in NGE

in Pre-Cu, i played 5-8 hours per day and at best i got 3 million

so i say cash is easier to get, based on personnal experience

The economy is no where near what it once was.  The weapons you loot and receive as rewards are far better than anything that can be crafted.  No need for Tailors (Domestics) anymore either.  Armorsmiths (Munitions) are still making money, but are charging a lot because of the harvesting of hides.  Shipwrights (Structures) are still in business and Engineers do a little.  I had a "Structures" trader and that business was pretty slow with just making houses and furniture.

Ofcourse it isn't, there are less people. As a structure trader though you do ship components and I have ZERO problem selling ship comps so I am not sure how it was slow for you. Perhaps differnet population demands on other servers.

I stopped selling ship comps for awhile simply because I was burning up all my good resources, business was pretty good. I mostly sold chassis simply because I didn't want to spend that kind of time keeping stock up.

My engineer was pretty weak in the sales department though...

    How?

and if money is coming easier but prices are up like you claim then really what is the difference other then the numbers?

    how?

easy. the lost art of trading

prices are soooo f***ed up that you can find the same item going for 300k in theed and a vendor on tat for 20k.

so i buy stuff in theed and sell in Tat or in rori. (thats just an example.) ive already bought something for 5k and sold it for 1 mil.

thats how messed up the SWG economy is.
