Age of Mourning vs. Dark and Light

Surely people can't have forgotten about the Age of Mourning?  LOL!

If there ever was a MMO Hall of Shame, both of these games would receive top billing.

    Problem is, they're both still trying to convince suckers that they are really going to be great games.

    Once I used to make fun of "Mourning" and how bad that game was. The drama caused by the dev team making that game was wonderful and even mmorpg.com decided to take the game off their list of games in development. DnL was still on top of the hype list back then - but things sure have changed a lot... Now it is easier to make fun of DnL. It is still amazing however, that DnL and Mourning both keep going, despite their abyssmal ratings and infamy. Either their investors are exceptionally naive or they don't care that they're throwing away their money...

    Mourning vs DnL?  That's a fight without an audience.  Or a point.  Or a plot.  Well, maybe the sort of plot you find in a cemetary.

    Isn't AoM called Thrones of Chaos now? For some reason I get emails from these guys at all of my email addresses. One of them is an address I only give to friends and family. I also get emails from the asshats at DnL to. Now I have a forumaccount for DnL. But this Aom/ToC stuff I know nothing about. I never followed the games. So I'd like to know where they got both of my email addys.

    90% of everything you could of read about that game was pure made up BS by the 16 year old haters at mmorpg.com  just like they try to do with everything else.. and the exact reason why mmorpg.com got into legal trouble and were forced to remove it.

    Well hey bud. Fill those of us in who've never tried mourning a little more. I'd like to know how mournings downfall came so I can hope to compare it with DnL's. I would assume there is a little more to the story than a bunch'o 16 yearolds with a grudge...

    The only sixteen year involved in the Mourning scandal was the CEO of Nuanced Entertainment Adam McCall...oh sorry 17.

    Uhm... yeah...

    You really don't know what you're talking about do you?  Many of the people who were complaiining were people that had played it.  More vocal were the people who did pay for it and found out what a POS the game really was, how unfinished it was.  But the whole saga was more than just the game itself, it was the people who were involved with making the game and their antics.  I didn't think there would ever be another soap opera like that until now with what I'm hearing about Dark & Light.  These two games are the dark spots on mmorpg history.  Examples of how not to lead on your fans with promises of things you can't deliver on, how not to treat your customers, and just what not to do in general.

    Exactly what facts did Inferno get wrong.  Mourning was a terrible game.  I bought it and played it at release.  It was by the worst game ever developed.  Well until DnL came along.  I will agree with you that DnL is a much worse game.  But that is not saying anything good about Mourning. 

    MMOPRG.com didn't get into legal trouble with Mourning.  The Mourning devs got mad that people were saying nasty things about Mourning on the forums here and asked MMORPG.com for those poseters IP addresses so they could ban them from the OVF.  MMORPG.com refused and Dave through a hissy fit.  MMORPG.com then removed Mourning from its forums because the game was a sham and the the Devs were insance.

    MMORPG.com did the right thing removing Mourning from their game list.  They refused to be bullied by some egotistical greedy devs.  Good for them.  Mourning was and sham and probly still is in its new form Throne of Chaos.
