Peeps play what they want and pay for it. I did not care for Wow. The communinity average age I think was like 16 years of age. Why pay to play with KIddies?!?!? :P

Good place to sell Proactv Soulution <Evil Grin> hehe

I am an original EQ player. EQ is what other companies use for a template to create new fantasy games.

Sony screwed that up by catering to the High lvl player base instead of recuting new ones. It also took 100 times longer to lvl than in Wow. Hell lvls come to mind.

When Meridian 59 and Ultima Online came out the masses went for them and paid a monthly fee as well. I beta tested both.

EQ2 Sucks. Its like playing TFC (Good against Evil) with a bazillion instances in between the 2 cities. I quit EQ2 too.

Eve was ok. The new expansion sounds good. Dunno if I will start that one up again either.

Daoc was a little boring wel. Again it was the community for me that made it boring.

Lets not forget the Bots for the greedy players either. They ruin the game as well.l

Peeps will pay for a game as long as their are some good friends on as well they can group with. But there also has to be a strong community as well along with some excellent game play.  Camping for 2 weeks to get an Epic water sprinkler in EQ was just plain insane.

There are so many games out now its hard to choose what to play.

I wouldn't know what to recommend to you now. I don't play any ATM. I really haven't found anything yet thats worth 15 bones a month!

WOW is the only MMO, and it charges monthly fee ::::15::

Classic ignorant of WOW players which caused so much "hate" toward WOW in the first place.

Can't WOW players open their eyes bigger to see what's out there??

WOW is NOT the first MMO,
WOW did NOT invent a single MMO feature,
WOW is NOT the only MMO that charges monthly fees nor the first,
WOW does NOT offer anything specially that other MMOs don't have.

Everything in WOW has already being used in other MMOs.
Everything you can find in WOW you can find better in some other MMOs.

    Ignorance is ridiculous

there was a chinese saying of a frog lives at the bottom of a well, it thinks the well is bigger than the sky because that's all it can see. ::::15:: Shortcut saying - the frog in a well. Describe your ignorance perfectly.

I don't hate any mmorpg with monthly gaming fee. I understand an mmorpg is a business enterprise and it has to make money somehow to pay for server maintenance, salary for programmers/GM/Staff and rent not to mention bandwidth. It's just those jobless idiots that disses a game based on it being free or not who screams the loudest.

Honestly, I don't mind a fee.  It's a strange trade, weeding out a number of idiots, but removing a lot of enjoyable casual players too and leaving the environment much more competitive.  It'd be a useful tool to remove botters and cheaters, but it seems most MMOs don't care much about that until they threaten to destroy the game in entirety.  I don't know WoW's specifics, but I know the gold farmers are out in force and Blizzard has one of the worst reputations for cheating playerbase I've ever heard of.

Still, that's not even the core issue.  I'm willing to pay for an MMO that's worthwhile, much as that is hard to find.  What bothers me is that these companies charge $50 to buy the game, throw in 30 days, and then charge a monthly fee.  I don't want some two-week trial to hook me on the game then pay $50, because I may get bored of the game after two months.  That'd be $65 dropped for a month and a half, and I've yet to see an MMO worth that kind of money.  I can justify $20-$25 including a month of play.  The extra going to the costs of the cd, manual, box, and so forth.

WoW is not a great game because of depth and challenge.  It's a popular game because it's familiar enough to pick up, has an achievable max level so you feel like you got somewhere, end-game raids based on communal activity so you feel like you're doing something big, and PvP for those who have done everything else.  It's not a bad game, but it's not a good match for many of us.

the only reason i left and knocked WoW so long ago was cuz the high game which took a second to get to had 3 dungeons and PVP, and i totally hated the way they had PVP setup
