    winter of 06 :) if not then winter of 07 lol eitherway great game from what Ive seen and any extra time they take wont hurt me in the least. I dont sit at home allday pre occupied with when exactly games of all things are released to the public so yea whenever its ready its ready.

    1.  They mean this Winter, though they are being purposefully vague.  Obviously, they aren't going to release until the game is good.  Winter lasts through February 2007.

    2.  Beta hasn't started, but Stieg has often said that the game is coming together amazingly in interviews.  They have the core there.  Honestly, how many super early betas have you played where the game was obviously not done.  They may be waiting to have something that is near release as honestly most betas have 90% of their bugs and play issues that anyone playing the game, especially professionals, can see moments into playing the game.  Hopefully this means that most of the "Well, duh" bugs will be gone by the time even early beta begins.

    3.  Different studios have different development processes.  Some of them are EXTREMELY iterative in their process (meaning they change things often during the project life-cycle) and let people into the beta earlier than others.

    Anyway, you are probably right that the game won't be out this year at least, but saying December 2007.  Well, that's just trolling.

    I hope they do push it back some...but given the success at e3, it seems unlikley the marketing weasles will let that happen, even it needs to. So my guess is they shove it out the airlock, ready or not, around xmas.

    Nevermind. I will never be playing this game. They aren't having pvp at release so it's a complete waste of my time. It's pretty mind-boggling how someone can create a game like this and not include pvp at launch. I guess fighting and slaughter goes against the whole Roman theme........The Romans use to sit around in the coliseum and roast marshmallows and put on kabuki plays , right?

    There WILL be pvp at launch no need to worry there, your a bit misnformed, when Stieg said something to that effect he meant pvp between the nations, there will be arena combat and a full pvp server at launch which gives us all lots of time to get aquainted ;)

    "What Stieg meant by the no PVP at launch was more in regards to the "Nation vs. Nation" and the advanced arena content. Players will still be able to fight in the arena and we will be launching at least 1 FFA PVP server when the game first goes live.

    We are simply waiting to launch a more advanced arena system. Nation vs. Nation will come around the time we introduce the first expansion.

    Well, he can.  They are making an OPTIONIAL PvP server for greif players to play together.

    Wow, dink the fanboi of gnh strikes again!  Not only did he manage to defend the carebear game, but he flamed an entire segment of the gaming population!

    PvP....getting it right takes a lot of work.  I would much rather the coders flesh out the game itself and then add a more intensive PvP later on.  PvP throws things to hell, skills meant to work in unison can be out of balance when against each other.  As a 2 year survivor of Everquest's Sullon Zek (a no limit pvp server) I know and love PvP, but it doesn't make the game.  It just adds flavor.

    I'm all for the perma-death flag their talking about although I'm sure they will wait a while to make sure it isn't bugged because that would be very ummmm.... bad.  One player killing perma-death flagged but never himself being flagged would be a bad bug along withg a few others I could think of,  but all in all I would activate it personally...

    Sounds like the only fanboi here is you, What game are you playing that is so hardcore in pvp? Lineage 2? Sorry, I hate to burst your bubble but GnH will have a ffa pvp server just like L2. I do enjoy reading moronic statements like yours when it comes down to knowledge about a game or when you disagree with someone else's opinion. READ ABOUT THE GAME!!! it might help you when you're trying to flame. Jealousy?

    Bahh...you weren't supposed to mention that. We had him running away at full speed back to his little 12 year old "l33tz0r" friends in WoW. I hate you xauss, now he might come back with more 3 word posts and troll some more...

    The type of player that bashes a game that he knows nothing about can stay away from G&H as far as I am concerned. There is a pretty darn good forum community going and I would hate to see it ruined by "forumweenies" like this guy. The devs are extremely committed to putting out an awesome, polished game then adding new polished content only when it is ready. I have no issues with this approach as long as they keep busy and introduce the content at a reasonable pace.
