Upcoming Movies

KuzzleKuzzle Member Posts: 1,058

So... Anyway, I decided to make a thread about upcoming movies. I've been thinking that I'd like to go to the theater sometime soon, but I can't decide on what to go see. Man Of The Year looks fairly promising, as does that one about the magician, or whatever, that they've been showing commercials for. Can't remember the name of it, though...

Anyway, I was wondering what people's views on the upcoming movie scene were, so I asked...

I cried when I saw that list.

I won't even get started on Al Gore's piece of work...but when I saw that Nick Cage was going to be GhostRider, I immediately threw up into my popcorn bucket.

There aren't really any movies that I'm looking forward to right now, maybe Spiderman 3, but that's way off in the future.

What's wrong with An Inconvenient Truth?

Ok, first off: Kelsey Grammar played Beast. All bets are off, man. Anything goes now.

Secondly, An Inconvenient Truth... Well, while it looks rather informative, it doesn't look all that entertaining. I know that's not it's purpose, but it's why I probably won't end up watching it.

My issue with Nick Cage being ghostrider is more of a personal preference in how I see the man as an actor...he is good in some things, like gone in 60 seconds, but as a hero he just doesn't convince me...he doesn't have the look of a bad ass, or a heroic type, no matter how hard he tries to play one.  The difference with him and Beast is that Beast was covered in blue fur and makeup...and his role was fairly small, whereas Nick is going to be in this whole movie.

and about an inconvenient truth...the movie should be called "an inconvenient opinion"

and Al Gore needs to get new jokes, he starts the movie with his "Hi I'm Al Gore, I used to be the next president of the United States" line...honestly, get over it Al, it was 6 years ago, and you're still telling that same damn joke?

Nick Cage is a good actor when he plays the more intellectual hero or another such smart guy. Btu as an ACTION hero? Lord of War kinda proves my point...

I think it's the objective of your past self to make you cringe.

Your beef against this movie, is that the title should be changed (for which you didn't backup) and that Al Gore isn't a funny man?

Cage was killer in Con-Air,Face-off and Windtalkers so I think he can do Ghostrider justice.

       Seriously? Seriously...

I still think he would've made a better president than the asshole we currently have in office...

Also, this isn't the place to discuss politics or science! Shoo! Shoo! Run along to a new thread, if you must, but that kind of talk isn't permitted here.

(Edit: Doesn't Ghost Rider have a flaming skull for a head? I mean, isn't that, like... the same thing as blue fur and make up, only moreso?)

  • DraenorDraenor Member UncommonPosts: 7,918

Kuzzle: no, because he can change back and forth from the ghostrider to the normal guy, Beast cannot

and my beef is obviously not with the movie's title, read between the lines :)

I actually saw An Incovenient Truth in theaters months ago. Sure it seems like something that would be boring but it is pretty good entertainment.

Personally I am looking forward to:

    • Pathfinder
    • Casino Royale
    • Idiocracy
    • Apocalypto
    • The Fountain
    • Rocky Balboa
    • Children of Men
    • 300
    • Live Free or Die Hard(Die Hard 4)

    To a slightly lesser extent:

    • Shut Up & Sing
    • Borat
    • The Nativity Story
    • Eragon
    • Night at the Museum
    • We are Marshall

Only Die Hard 4 and 300, and Pathfinder don't come out this year.

    Saw III.

I know it's going to be the same as the first two.  I don't care.

Comic book movies are always enjoyable.  Except Fantastic 4.  And X-3.  And anything ever involving Superman.  But  c'mon..Luke Cage, Ironman, Venom in Spider-Man, FRICKIN' GHOST RIDER?  Gets me hot just thinking about it.

300 is without a doubt the best movie being made right now.

    Another Spartan movie?  Bore.

Oh, it's by Frank Miller?  Great, a highly-overated bored.

While im not really a fan of their music I am looking forward to seeing Shut Up and Sing. Nothing like expressing your opinion and being roasted alive for it!

It was almost like they posted on an internet forum image.

As for next year Spidey 3 all the way.

DOAC is still the MMO I judge other games by, My first and still my favorite.

Hmm, movies...I love good movies, but the upcoming batch is complete shit.

I have hope for a couple.

The Fountain - wirtten by Darren Aronofsky. He wrote Pi and it sucked, but he wrote the screen play for Requeim, which is my favorite movie. I'm hoping this movie can at least be better than Pi.

Borat - I love Ali G, though I fear this movie might sell out Borat.

Eragon - Where shall I start with this one? The plot? Cliche shit. Written by a 15 year old or whatever. Honestly, how good can a story be that is written by someone of that age? I hope I will enjoy it as a cliche medieval fantasy flick. I found the books to be pure unimaginative shit.

Saw III - THe first two were mediocre, but the premise behind the movies still manages to intrigue me, so I'll see this one.

Other than that, nothing in the upcoming releases looks worth a matinee ticket.

I'll stick to my proven classics.
