It is a good time to  restart WoW as a new class  because of the expansion comming out in 2 weeks. You can level that character to max in 3 to 6 months, then grind reputation and get gear upgrades in the new expansion zones. Expansions in these kind of games usually make the old raid gear obsolete, so your new character can bypass the old zones and gear up in the new to catch up quicker with the older players.

It should be easier to gear up a new character because the raid sizes in the expansion will be smaller (25 man max rather than the old 40 max) and easier to organize, assemble and schedule the raids. You do not have to join "the big guilds" anymore, to get the best gear in the game.

Some of the large raid guilds are complaining mightily about the raid size changes, but that just tells me Blizzard has done the right thing in capping the raids at a smaller size. Small guilds will have a chance to see all of the raid content now - and the large, eliteist guilds don't like that at all. Salute to Blizzard!

Well, i am very partial to WoW, and now that it is only 20 bucks, and 15 a month, I think it is worth it.  Im sure there are plenty of people out there that disagree with me.  I know that a lot of people are really into Guidl Wars, and that doesnt have a monthly fee.  With FFXI, i reallllllyyyyy would not suggest that.  I have multiple experiences with that game, and it gets pretty rediculous.  It takes over 3 hours just to get it on ur machine!  There are good things about it, but I just think sticking with the stuff that is proven to be good would be your best bet, but i could be a complete idiot.

another vote for WoW here. Don't waste your time on FFXI. It's a crappy game, especially if you're just now getting into it. It's very slow paced and grindfest

Considering you are old enough to have a job, I would say move out of your momma's house and play the one you like.

    Hello,

FFXI is a great game, but is also an Asian mmorpg, which means that if you are use to the recent american mmorpgs, then in your in for bit of a suprise.  FFXI is one of the most time consuming mmorpgs out there, and it literaly can take you days to do some of the needed content.  It got to much for me in the end, way to much grind, stupid eletist link shell (like a guild if you don't know).   I dont' want to spend 14hrs a day on a game just to keep up with the other players.  But outside of that, it has one of the most indeph systems when it comes to days, elements, constelations, and weather effects.  Also you can comebine your wepon skill into skill chanins that have elemental properties, and then the mages can use the correct elemental spell or skill to do more damage.  All in all I would probally play wow... even though I bash the game sometimes, I think I'm going to play it agian at least till VSoH comes out.  You might want to check out The Saga of Ryzom, it a pretty neet but definetly a nich game.  Great community though in the end.  Good luck in the hunt and with your mom  image
