I recommand Guild Wars. In this game you can play either PvE and PvP, although you can ingore PvP part if you don't like it. Guild Wars is a good economic game with friendly people on it. Guild Wars has no monthly fee (which is always good), you only have to pay for the CD or you can download the client on http://www.guildwars.com/ and buy a CD-key.
Good luck with finding your game, maby I will meet you on Guild Wars!
I think I need a nap. I read the title of this topic as "Please
help me find my girlfriend" and thought it was going to something like
that lostfrog thing.
PS I don't drink.
Fanboys aside, for you guys, I'd recommend Everquest 2, or Lineage 2.
It seems that you like the kill and level simplicity of mir3usa, and
you said you like complex crafting system, both of which are found in
both of these games. EQ2 is a bit more polished, while Lineage 2 is a
bit more aesthetically pleasing.
However, in L2, PvP is a bit rampant and there are a
lot of griefers, which can put you off while leveling in the beginning.
In EQ2, you can choose a Normal or PvP server, so if you like you can
skip PvP altogether.
I hope it's what you're looking for, and hopefully you and your girlfriend find something you like.
World of Warcraft is certainly enjoyable if you dont mind grinding for xp whether its combat or crafting. It will take you away from reality for few months untill u start see its bad side.
Horizons have quite complex crafting system (it is grind as well) and you dont need to be a high level fighter in order to progress in crafting level as it is in WoW. However it become borring after short while. Well at least that was the case with me.
SoZ is seems to be a good choice.
I suggest you try free trials whenever possible and see for your self.
It sais: "Better to see it for your self once than hear about it hundred of times"
Cheers! good luck

bit clumsy.
And they're mostly sticky. Eww.
Anyways back to topic, I'll admit that now adays it can be a bit tuff choosing a game, we all have our opinions and perticularly different degrees within those opinions. I've yet to find the 'perfect' game for me, I've played or beta tested a great deal of them. However I'll recomend to you a few you might enjoy, perticularly as a cople:
Fantacy: As stated EQ2 has a very in debt crafting system, so long as you don't mind working up in levels or having a higher level friend to help you gather the resorces in tuffer zones or hunting for the rare components. Lots of storyline in the EQ world, a housing system which you two might enjoy to share a place and decorate it and set more unified goals. I realy enjoyed the stealth classes in EQ2 for the strategy you use with them, as far as having to stun, jump behind or tot he side, attack, stun, resteath, lots of figuring out the idealistic chain of events and attacks. Economy is -pretty good, crafted items are amazing, still raid items and stuff that are better but you can't go wrong choosing to use crafted items. Also the economy needs crafters for upgrading abilities at various stages of advancement.
WoW has a nice crafting system BUT as far as armor crafting goes, it tends to become worthless later on as it hardly compares to what you can get your hands on through quests or dungeon loot with a little bit of work. The engineer crafting is handy though. Their economy is good but not so great for some of the crafters.
Saga of Ryzom you two might enjoy, I beta tested that one a long while back. To me the armor and items look too identical, I like vast differences, which I've only really found in a few games, but this one tends to lack a bit more than others (I think it's got about the same much variety of looks as Horizons once had, one of the reasons I left that game). But I've heard great things about the community of late.
If you're willing to go off the scale into another gender, a lot of couples (including me and a former partner of mine at one point) enjoy City of Heroes/Villians. It however can get boaring with the grind, and still is missing some element that really keeps the game from sticking with me. Maybe I just imagined a bit more in debt with power customizations and being a more interactive city (very hard to do, but the Matrix Online city felt more alive than Paragon City ever did for me).
Top Ten Most Misused Words/Phrases in MMO Industry...
Based on what you said you were looking for I'd recommend World of Warcraft. My girlfriend and I avoided it for quite some time after release and eventually gave it a look after getting bored with the MMO we were playing together.
If you decide on WoW it may be in your interest to go to a "normal" server. They've release some new servers and it's nice to log into an old game for the first time and still get that new feel when you go to a newer server. There's some pretty good content for someone just starting out and the crafting can be fun.
