What MMO? - Old planetside is lost :(

Hey all,

Im currently looking for a new MMO to play, as planetside has gone wrong for the last time! - Ive tried a couple of games since then, most sent me to sleep within an hour however!

I have tried so far: City of Villians - didnt like that much (slow)
                          AutoAssault - played this before the server merge...dunno if thts got anybetter!
                          D&D Online - didnt last 1/2 hour!
                          Eve online - to complicated
                          Guild wars - Still play this :)

Im thinking of trying something like RF online / WoW / ????

Any suggestions? id hate to spend more money...and realise its rubbsih :P

    You play GW. Soon there will be new chapter which looks really nice. Imo you should play it untill release of 'next gen' mmo's =]

    Yeh - but i dont play it that much..just looking for something else to play as bordom has hit! - Currently thinking about Archlord...lol

    ArchLord is good, but its not a good idea to join right now. its filled with bugs, wait a month or so.

    But why don't you try Phantasy Star Universe? its comming out this month.

    I would say Asian mmorpgs suck but : every mmorpg out there sucks lol.

     

    I'm just waiting for one worth while.

      Archlord might be ready in a few years lol. Stay away from that one. It is barely better than the crappy f2p games out there, and certainly not worth the monthly fees.

      Just try all the f2p games out there and by the time you are finished with them....few days.... you might become disgusted enough to quit gaming for a while and wait for a new gen game to come out.

    RFO - Yikes I played it for like a few days and thew it out and haven't looked back.
    WoW - Too addictive and time consuming.  Trying to break my addiction for the third or fourth time now. ;)

    Check out Phantasy Star Universe it is coming out next week.

    Dungeonkeeper/Dungeonkeeper 2 is good for what ails you. No matter how long I am away from these, I always enjoy myself when I come back to them. "Your creatures are hungry...you need a new lair...".

    From what you've played I would say WoW if you're picking between RF and WoW. Outside those two, I'd recommend checking out free trials for any P2P game that's available. This way you can get a taste of the game before deciding to put your money into it.

    Well if i had a choice between RF online and WoW then id have to go for WoW because RF online was so poorly done. Shame really it had some ideas to it that coud ahve been pretty good and different. Such as the Mecha idea it had.

    You say PS has gone wrong for the last time so I assume that you have been playing it for a while.
    Some of the others you have tried are more modern types than sword and sorcery.

    Therefore I'm guessing you prefer guns and grenades to dungeons and dragons ?

    I have never tried Neocron but it seems to to have a following and has a free trial available.

    You can pick up a copy of Matrix Online for less than £5 from Amazon UK. I was dissapointed with it but for £5 it is worth a look.

    I get cheesed off with PS myself and am hoping either Tabula Rasa or Huxley will improve on it.

    I'd say go with Neocron if you want an FPS style game. Still very roleplayish and very good.

    Keep waiting for Tabula Rasa.
