Been lookin really hard at coming back.

in Dark Age of Camelot

Right now im playing WoW, but I've been missing some DAoC action.  My highest lvl char was a (49 just shy of 50)Midgard Healer on Bedevere(sp).

Is Bedevere a classic server now?  if not what do i need to get?  I have upto  TOA expansion.  also should i go back there or try a more populated server?

    Bedevere is now clustered with tristan, Igraine, Galahad, and Morgan.  This means you still are on your server but you can port to any of the other servers which results in 5 server raids like dragons and levi's and gives you a better chance of finding a arty if it's down on a server.  This also allows you to join guilds on any of the other servers (dogs of war have toons from every server now).

    The Frontier, Halls of Helgarth, BG's, and DF are all shared so theres only one of each.  This way when you port in everyone is in the same area thus increasing the population.

    Now just to catch up you would need Catacombs and Darkness rising.  The minotaur exp is coming out real quick.  Darkness rising is download only and if I think your as far behind on upgrades and what not I hope you have a couple hours of free time for all the downloads, even on high speed internet it takes a while.

    Bedevere is still a normal server.  I know gareth is a classic and what they did there was take out TOA completely so you won't get any ML lines or arties and they made it so a buffing class has to be in group and withing so many units (anti-bot server).  You also can't /20.

    first thing you will notice when you get back in is that everything has changed.  Graphics, epic's, terrain.  All different.

    If you do decide to get back in and your guild is missing give the dogs a shout on galahad and we'll see what we can do help ya hit 50 since now it takes no time at all.

    yeah, i was just looking online to see where i can pick up the epic edition.  Looks like they have a couple of copies at EB, so i might be in as soon as tonight or tomorrow.

    DAOC is way better now....TOA is alot easier to do.... encounter spawn more often, you only need the scrolls and the encounter credit to get an artifact and dont need to actually get the artifact now...this means if there is a 30 person Shades of mist raid...in the old days only one person would get the artifact and you would have to keep going on raids till you were lucky enough to /roll 100 the highest....now if you have the scrolls you go on the raid, get credit, and activate the arti with just the scrolls and not the artifact itself

    a bunch of other minor stuff was also changed about TOA also that helps a good deal

    Catacombs is a great expansion with cool areas new classes and alot of stuff

    Darkness rising is another cool expansion which lets you get horses, has some really really cool quests for your champion levels in some really really cool areas.

    so give it a try, they also are doing class adjustments and fixing underpowered classes and toning down overpowered ones...the game is as good or better than ever

    I agree with all of what was said. I cam back last week and am 22nd level. I am having more fun that I have in any MMO for quite some time.

    yeah, i picked up the epic pack and started a new Valk on Gareth(sp) im really liking the class so far. taking it slow im only lvl 9 right now as i have not had much time to play lately.

    I also been looking into getting back to daoc but maybe playing it as a second mmorpg now

    So maybe maybe :)

    yeas if I recall it no /lvl 20 on classics

    well that sucks....i just spent the money to reactivate my old accounts and all I wanted to do was play on the Classic servers, could of just bought the epic discs and opened a new account, wouldn't have mattered.

    I understand that, on the regular servers, you can't get every class with /20. A Valkyrie has to be done all the way from level 1 Viking to level 5 Valkyrie, and up.

    Honestly, getting to level 20 these days doesn't take long at all.

    ESPECIALLY during the "Double XP" promo (Mainland Alb/Hib/Mid areas and dungeons; see www.camelotherald.com for more info) that Mythic is having to celebrate the 5th anniversary of DAoC.  That promotion lasts until Nov 10, so strike while the iron's hot!  (Even if you're not a Weapon/Armor-smith) image
