Yes, a newb is truly interested in the game. A friend of mine has an old copy of the latest game/expansion, and he gave it to me and his account info. Thing is, I don't know if I really want to. It looks like it would fit me perfectly and is everything I'm looking for in a game, but its also almost empty and not exactly hospital for a newb. Is it possible for someone to start up this late in the game's life period?

Its never to late to start playing AC, you can always find players to fellow with that matching your level, as soon your are level 50 you can fellow with all players that are 50-275 level. there are new things every monthy patch, last patch we got pets, this patch we have hallowween festival. there is 750 dungoens and 400 quests in the game and a massive landscape that keep groving bigger. you will not get bored for a very long time
My toons is level are 205 / 170 / 120 /120 and I have played since 2002 not even close to max my toons yet, I might be half of the way to max my 205 level main toon.
Welcome to AC

I played from 1999 to 2004 and I loved the hell out of it. I dont really remember why I quit playing but I miss it and I am going to start playing again when I get back in the states. I have tried playing other games like EQ2 and SWG but AC rocks. It is the best game where you can create your character the way you want and raise the stats up your self. I am going to start from scratch when I start up again.
The only thing I wish they would do is redo the graphics and promote the game more to get new players.
But you will love the game. Good luck.
What character is good for a newb? I know the combat is wildly different here and I'm afraid I'll gimp myself before I even get into the game. So what would be a good starter layout? Thanks, can't wait to start up
AC truly is a great game.
I even recently went back and played it some more after years of not playing ...
There IS still community there - you just have to find it. There arent millions of people running around ( and lagging up ) every open space. It doesn't have the -population that it once did, very true - but its not dead yet ^
Gaming? That's not gaming!
That's just people sat 'round in costumes drinking...
