Just got urge to start playing again.

I started playing back in 2005, played for about 1-2 months, but i found it to hard to lvl.
After that i've tried to start up again, but i've quitted after a little while, with the same resone.

And now again, i'am wondering about starting again, even when i know the lvling isn't any faster, there is just something that i like about this game, think it is the community and the great character customizing.

So should i give the game a chance again? maybe try to be a little more patince, and maybe try to get myself a supergroup?
Or maybe try not to think so much on the lvling and just hav fun ingame?

Oh and, why do you think CoH/CoV is such a great game? what do you like and what do you dislike?

Thanks in advance, i'll appricate all answeres =)

Yes i will admit lvling can be hard till you hit the single origin lvl's then it becomes alot easier. I think what i like most is the teaming I team alot and love it also no lvl regresion is a big plus. I have found that alot of other games will de-lvl you when u die or atleast remove some of your experience. Dont get me wrong debt sux but i would much rather accure dbe then to have already earned xp removed. Plus you can only earn so much debt (boput half of what you need to lvl) so there is a stopping point to it. If you do decide to play some more im on Guardian and I primarily play on COV for now just look me up.(Chr name is same as my post name)

I just started playing again myself.  I play for a while then quit.  I get the urge to play again, so I join.  I've done this off and on since the release of the game.  It's definitely the most fun of all the MMRPG I've played.  I have COV too, but I don't like it as much.

Try it again for a month.  If you don't like it, then don't renew.

  • Thanks for the answeres.

Wonder one thing, what have happend to the game in the last 6 months? anything big?
Beside the Issue 7 ofc i've read all about it :P

COV is better playing but it really is the exact same as COH but the grinding and waht not is harder

  • Think both add up to one hell of a good game, got both, if i start wiht CoX again i'am not sure if i will start as an villain or a hero yet.

But again i'am not sure, because atm it stands between EQ2 and Cox, hard to choose for me..

I just picked up Cox again and I am having a total blast with it. Yea, there are times when finding a team is hard (see FFXI) but this is my most favorite game for mmos ever. I am hard pressed to find anything else out there that is just "fun" to play. Wow is good but way too much stress. I have rather enjoyed the simplicity of Cox. Don't have to worry about gear affecting my stats, that I am not 1337 or uber. No fighting over drops, no ninja looting, etc.

Oh yea, what you say there is just spot on, as i should have said it myself, it is something with cox that just makes it fun a simple in a good way.

You picked a good stretch of months to pick the game back up.  They're starting their Halloween event next week on the 18th, where you get to trick or treat at mission doors.  You either get a treat (insiprations or special salvage pieces) or a trick (various special mobs that give event specific badges).  If you get a full set of the salvage you can turn it in to a contact to get a fifth costume slot indipendant from your level.

They just put I8 on test today, which means it's hopefully going to go live next month.  It'll give Heroes kind of reverse Mayhem Missions, a way to get random missions aside from contacts (Police Band Missions), some new costume pieces, and they've almost completely redone a zone (Faultline) for the 15-25 level range.  Oh, and if you've had a total of at least 3 months paying and playing you'll be able to use a trenchcoat because of the veteran rewards thing that's going in with I8.

Yea, the Holloween event is part of the reason I came back. Its a total kick. As for the rewards, Imugunna get me some wings (12mo ftw).

Vet rewards are nice and looking forward to all the cool items offered ... However I hate to be the bearer of ill news but wings are a 15 month reward.

But you are well on your way and you should have them soon

I've just started playing on the trial, I am thinking about subscribing...but as usual weighing the factors heavily.  I am thinking now would be a good time to join, I am having fun on this MMO.  BUT, the level grind is getting to me already, so should I stay the course or try a different MMO?

Join up with a good or popular SG, they will make the grind a lot more fun. Read over the story lines and develop a great toon.

Each archetype can be fun and a challenge, try them...Just remember that
all MMO's have a grind and they all get boring ... this one is the most
    fun bored I have had.

my answer to this has been and always will be.

THERE IS NO END GAME IN COH/COV.  PLAY THE GAME TO ENJOY THE GAME.

its really that simple. You get more levels, you get more powers, you meet different enemy types, different stories, as you go.

But level 50 is no more fun then level 26, 40 isnt better then 30.

I have over 20 different characters, that i play whenever i feel like playing them.  I'm in no hurry to level them, well i sorta am...im trying to get my hero halves all up into their 20.

issue 8 will cause me to be addicted to coh again, and my cov characters will probably be shelved for awhile.

Just take your time playing, and just have fun with it.

The biggest problem i see with people who grow tired of the game, generally put too much of a focus on leveling, instead of just enjoying the game.

Well I ended up buying the game and am now starting to play a CoV character, I went a different direction with this character and I am having alot of fun learning how to play a "soft" character and a villian to boot!  this game rocks!image

I left because of the Hamidon and it will always aggravate me, since it make peoples who hunt the Hamidon stronger than peoples who don't.  This is a raiding feature that screw everyone else.  Granted it is far less bad than in other MMOs, it is still there and hurting my gameplay, less than in EQ, but hurting nonetheless.  Raiding can't grant any rewards that groupers will want.

This game has a certain pull.... I always end up reactivating my account for some strange reason. The game is instant fun, has a great community, exellent custume options and you can FLY!! If you quit you'll just end up ripping your shirt open finding nothing except a hairy chest... or something else if you are a lassimage, but not the thing youre looking for... the suit, the powers, the hero.
