Looking For Something More...

Alright.. I've been playing Runescape for the past 3 years. I've done about everything rewarding and fun in the game, and basically got all my skills to the point that they would take months to perfect (each). Now I'm bored with it and I'm looking for a different game. I bought Guild Wars and didn't really like it. I didn't like that: combat is the whole game, there isn't really much to do except quests, and you can't play it solo. Some people have told me to get WoW but I don't know if I'd like that any more than Gwars. I really don't know what game would be good for me. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Well try to give us alot more about what you want in a game

    PvP or PvE centric
Loot or crafted for best weapons
    LvlL or skill based

    Any heavy turn offs?

the more you can give us the better of a suggestion we can give you.

    1. PvE
    2. Crafted
    3. Skill

    Turn offs:
-The whole game depending on whether your Guild/friends are online or not. (I want a game that you can solo a lot of it)

-Games where you must follow the storyline.

Also.. I like challenging games.. not like Gwars where you can reach the level cap within a week.

Wow certainly isn't a good choice then.

    Try Saga of Ryzom.

Everquest 2 might be your thing if your computer can handle the graphics, and if you can handle the boring art style.

Anarchy Online MAY be worth looking into. PVE centric, a significant portion, but not all of the best gear is crafted, and the skills you invest in are more important than your level as a general rule.

If you have a level 150 going up against a 25 its still a blowout, but I regularly hunt down mobs significantly higher than my own level, because ive invested in certain skills that allow me to solo exceptionally well, even though my profession tends to be a team support character.

You can solo all the way up if you wish, and teams are generally easy to gather if you do want one.

There is an immersive storyline, but it stays in the background. You can do anything, at any time

It is definately challenging. It has a high learning curve, and usually its a matter of years before people get to the max level (220)

Other good points: mature community, a massive world, and arguably the #1 ingame customer service team anywhere

warning, the 3D graphic and animation models are five years old now, even though they were exceptionally good quality on release. Since youve played Runescape for three years, I doubt it will phase you one bit, but still.

FFXI kinda sounds like your game, apart from you wanting to solo.

the game has many quests to do and a storyline you have to follow.
It's a social game that relies on Parying..meh..just a thaught

I would also say try Saga of Ryzom. Its fun, I play it now end then. They also have a cool free server where you can try it out for free as long as you want :)

I'll second Everquest 2 and Anarchy Online. Definitely NOT FFXI; it's
party-centric. You spend hours doing nothing but sitting, waiting to be
    invited to a group.
