Hey all, thought this would be a good place to post this. I want to try the game, atleast for the 14 day trial. One thing though, I am in school (college) so I dont have a lot of free time and I heard the game takes alot of time. So would it be smarter to try it now and see how it goes or wait untill school is out and try it then? Also any hints or tips for making the 14 days more productive and really getting a feel for the game would be helpful. Thank you all in advance!

It depends on what you're trying to find out about the game within the 14-day free trial.
If you want to get to know the ins and outs of the game, how to play, where to hunt pirates, what rocks to mine, etc etc... then I would suggest wait until you have a break and play as much as you want. You'll get far more value for your free trial, and a better idea of what's in the game.
However, some people would rather find out exactly what (or how much) they can accomplish in a typical session. If this is the case, I would suggest trying it now, so as not to cause misconceptions later on when your play time is severely reduced.

Well I work and got my one irl corp and I think EvE Online
are the mmorpgs for those who havent the time to sit in a mmorpg 8 hrs a day.
With the ingame system with skills/ offline training in eve you can play and still
run your irl life
So go ahead start now
Guides & Trials for EvE Online:
You can get as many trials as you like, so there is no harm in trying it out now. Though I would recommend starting on a mostly free weekend so you can sit for a few hours at a time and soak it in.
The game lends itself to possibly the most casual friendly gameplay of any MMO. As you might have already heard, character advancement is done real time, in the background, even while logged out. A new player in a college environment would probably find the system very accommodating, as they can log in, change skill training, maybe even set a new autopilot course (through safe space between classes.
If you have that weekend, give it a try. If you are still wanting to evaluate the game when you can dedicate more solid blocks of time, you can always get a new trial account (you'll have to make new characters, though) and try it over a break.
And as far as upgrading to paying accounts, whenever you decide to do that, you'll be happy to know that even your old trial accounts will still be around, waiting to be upgraded. CCP will never delete any account unless it has been expired for more than six months - though after 3 years of running, they have yet to delete any expired accounts, even trials.
My first recomendation is stop listening to people who are telling you things such as "the game takes alot of time". Luckily the skill advancemnt mechanism actually supports casual game play as infrequent as a few hours a week.
The only benefit you have from playing a lot would be through the acquisition of assets and development of player contacts.
If you have 2 hours to play a day/night then this game is not going to be a problem. But if you're going to "school" you would be better served to spend those two hours studying so you'll excell in your classes. If you're looking for 2-5 hours of gaming a week you'll deffintly be able to do it in EVE.
Above all else, complete the tutorial. Run missions and complexes if you're a limited casual player. It's likely the area which will provide you with the most return.
