Looking for group interface

I think this new thing for the expansion is a great idea because a lot of times you get a really hard quest and none of your friends are on and guild members are busy and no one is around then you can just make a group using this Im really giving Blizzard a big round of applause for this invention.  Tell me your ideas on it

  • Looks like it should work well.  I can't believe it took them 1.5 years of people begging to make it.  That thread with a nice mock up that people kept bumping got so old I think it has grandchildren.  I could make that interface in Visual Studio in an hour.

Personally I think they could have made this at any time and just decided to throw it in to BC to plump up its feature list for marketing purposes.

Come on aobut the time or come on about being able to make it in an hour?

The time thing is just kinda sad but I can understand it being a very minor thing for them priority wise.

But the making the same thing in one hour I am 100% serious about.  I think the design of it looks fine, it should work well.  But seriously those of you who play the game should not get fooled, this is a series of dropdown menues populated from teh quest log and a standard list of instances and then a DB query list display.

You make your LFG set, a few things get written to a DB and then the LFM people do a DB query and get a list.  This can seriously be made in Visual Studio in one hour.  Believe me I do it for a living ;)

I am not saying this is bad, but this is pure marketing.

'C'mon' as in stop obsessing over a game you clearly have no interest in playing. : )

The new interface is something that players have requested, and Blizzard finally implements it. Why the need to criticize?

I think the lfg channel is fine just used too much for chat instead of it's purpose.

Got to admit though a LFG button was long over due.But at least they finally are delivering a good feature which allows you to also be more specific about what you are lfg for.

The lfg channel never really worked as intended anyhow.

It's a shame the WoW Interface isn't done in Visual Studio then eh? It's done using XML, for the interface and interaction, then LUA for the event processing.  The reason they probably didn't implement this before is that of the LUA Coding issue - pre BC they're using a rather outdated version of LUA, it's memory and CPU heavy, so adding in something like the LFG interface would bump the minimum spec needed even higher.

Please don't make comments like "zomg, i could do this typing with my elbows" sort of comments again, kkthxbye.
