Looks nice, I kind of wonder how hotkeys will be managed though. I hate clicking buttons or having to change bars.
It sounds like they were heavily influenced by WoW, so hopefully they took a clue from WoW's massive hotkey configurations. I've always liked the ability to have 30+ hotkeys.
The modern MMORPG is simply not worthy, of the acronym RPG. The straight grind and lack of atmosphere leave me with no choice. From this day forth, World of Warcraft, Everquest 2, and all the games like them shall be referred to as PIGCRAP. People In Guilds Constantly Raiding And Power-leveling
They haven't said much about hotkeys but you can cycle through the abilities on the quickbar with your keyboard. Joseph said (in his original post about the interface) that he himself finds it more natural to just click on the abilities but several Fury developers (Namely Adam if I remember correctly) takes full advantage of the ability selector and can use it quite efficiently, so he doens't have to click a lot.
So hopefully that should help out, but again I highly doubt that they wouldn't also implement a hotkey system, though with the idea of changing incarnations I wonder how the system would work.
Yeah, I suppose it's good to have both. I remember seeing screenshots of Ultima Online where they had 30+ buttons on their screen to cast spells. Seems a bit ridiculous to me, but maybe some people have trouble memorizing 30+ hotkeys.
I have no doubt there will be some hotkeys, but I still worry for how they will pull it off. Interface is one of the most important parts of the game for me. If I am not comfortable, I lose interest. Perhaps that's part of the reason I like FPS's so much, a somewhat universal keyboard/mouse interface.

I too am a bit worried about the lack of hotkeys. This game claims to be fast-paced so clicking will be too slow, and having a 'selector' (with button rows 12 buttons wide) seems inconvenient as well. While i'm unsure of how this would work out with a need to constantly move (thus having both mouse and 'wasd' at hand), 12 buttons does seem to suggest either numbers (1-9, 0, -, or function keys (F1-F12) (say... with and without shift... or Ctrl or alt whatever). On the other hand they seem to be rather confident you won't even have 24 buttons so... well i dunno.

Thanks for the layout. Looking good...
