No, GW will not put a montly payment on its game (Reason)

If GW put a monthly payment on their game then probaly 75% of the pop would leave because the game is not good enough to pay a monthly fee for.  The only reason it is popular now is because its FREE! Also I feel like GW is smarter then to start a monthly fee on it.

Most people that are playing Guild Wars play it because it has no monthly fee for one reason. People will un-install Guild Wars massivly when they will put a monthly fee on it, indeed, but they will NEVER do that. I don't mind paying for a good game, but some people think it is rubish because you already payed for the CD and such.

If GW puts a P2P on this game im sure they will lose mostly all of there players at LEAST 75% because if they wanted a good MMORPG that was P2P they would just get World Of Warcraft. Unless there like the most hardcore GW player.image

What I don't get is why people keep insisting that GW is going to start charging a monthly fee.

To be honest I don't know what's worse: the fact that people just can't seem to get that fact through their thick skulls or the retarded reasoning they use as justification.

I'd be more likely to pay a monthly fee for Guild Wars because I know I can come back and play after not having played for a while and not be lost. In almost every other game I feel like I'm waking up from amnesia. They'd just have to drop all the instances and make it full MMO integration, to justify the need for a monthly subscription. Oh, and I'd expect some kind of tchotchke updates giving more weapons and monsters and levels or something at first just to soothe us over.

It is more likely GW will get closed down than start charging a monthly fee.

It's better be hated for who you are, than loved for who you aren't.

QFT, all of these thread topics are about as lame as the "tell me a good f2p game".  That is to say that it is totally lame.   Guildwars will continue to be f2p if for no other reason than it acts as a springboard for people to try out other PlayNc games.

Some people just can't stand the fact that ArenaNet has managed to release a gread product for free after box price, yet they have to pay $10-15 a month for the crap they are playing.

what are u smoking, many ppl play guild wars because its orginal and acutaly a fun mmo. The pvp is unmatch by any other "grinding" mmos. Free onlineplay is liek a bonus...with montly payment, this game would still be a great game and popular to the mmo'ers that pay for montly fees, regardless
