Well... I got 'accepted' by MMORPG.com, so now just wait for Ryzom to talk? I feel sad... I feel like I, now, might not be accepted. Here's hoping they guaranty it. Otherwise... false advertisement?
Wait... So what is going on? I won the contest, but nothing happens until Ryzom decides right? Some people acted like they already got an email, or is that just the close beta testers? Also, so the contest winners can only get it by the CD in the mail and not a download? I don't want to sound stupid but I just want to make sure I understand you correctly.

If you won the contest, just wait for word from Nevrax. AS I said before, they'll probably move you guys in next beta phase...500 people is a lot to just shift in inbetween beta phases. They're still waiting for 2.4 players to get everything set up since most of us are just getting the client installed now.

There seems to be much confusion over this. Are the beta test winners at MMORPG.com posting here mixed in this beta testers already with accounts? Will we get beta CD's in the mail or will we have to download? I am in no big rush, although I would like to know about it! Anyone with the correct info, please shed some light, thank you.
Look.....I'll make it simple for you all, if you won the contest to be accepted into beta from mmorpg.com then you have to wait for your CD to arrive through the post, the only reason we closed beta testers are aloud to download it is because a lot of us never recieved our CD's.

Not to mention that a CD or download is not going to people any good unless Neverax sends them their account info. For those that dont know, if you want to download the beta client you will need a account name/password to be able to log in to their FTP site. So unless people get a email from Neverax then no they will just have to wait.

well after finally getting into ftp site and downloading, finally found that it was cut off (appeared to have finished) and incomplete, so here I go again waiting to try and get into site again! Absolutely un-real... All I can say is if the game is run as porly as the beta seems (judging by what i've seen so far in the whole cd-in-the-mail /download fiasco), then this'll go down in history like the anarchy beta/launch
I've been in a huge number of betas, and not had this kind of experience, well anarchy onlines beta is the only thing that comes to mind.
Oh wait just got in! Quess what? Does it have a resume? No way! Back to square one, complete new download! Too much

If you use smartftp it has a resume, I know because mine lost con half way threw as well but it did resume, I installed and updated now, game looks ahh so far but havent played it but 5 minutes so...

Wow, I am thinking the EXACT same thing... I want to say, this is my *first* beta, and I was so excited that I won, I nearly had a heart attack, but now I am hearing that we might not get in in this Beta Phase... Not to complain, but the game is released in a little over a month, how long do they plan on letting us try it? A few days? Eh... I cant complain though, I won, so I guess they have to let us winners try it, none the less... Oh, and about the CD thing, this is incredibly confusing... So Beta 2.4 testers did not get CD's, so they got to download it... But us contest winners *ARE* getting CD's? Right? Sigh, at least I will finnally be able to play the game I have been wanting to play...
Won't go into detail, but I HIGHLY doubt SoR will be released in the next month. It's still in early beta. You will have plenty of time to test it, don't forget that it will probably have an open beta period too.

Aye, you have restored alot of faith in that comment, but then I thought "What if they just put us in with Open Beta"... I would see that happening, because... well not to bash Themis or Nevrax... but it all seems so quick and unorganized, its confusing...

Just get a good FTp client and set it to auto retry. Only took me about two minutes to get into the FTP site.
My download is now going at 80KB/s. Not bad.
