we the future players of fallen earth wait patiently for icarus to finish this amazing looking game.
i understand that you have a stand against "hyping" the game untill you hit a certain point in production,
however i believe a time has come to at least disclose something. update the site. official forums. dev logs.
something. the video at agc simply has us begging for more.
if nothing else, just a heads up as to the current state of development. i think at this
point no communication will only lead to rumors of cancellation, selling the code, etc.
just my opinion.

To the Devs:
Don't pussy out and carebear the PVP. Please. PLEASE. GOD PLEASE! lol
Seriously, though. This game is looking spectacular and I would hate it if you went the WoW/EQ route when it comes to PVP.
From what I see so far, it kinda looks like you're taking the WoW direction. If that's the direction you're taking, please offer us hardcore PVPers an option to play the game as well. Just a single server is all we ask, we can kick eachother's asses. We don't care. Just let us battle it out in our own way. Take away most the rules (small safe zones are required to prevent ganking of course) but give us something. That's all we ask. Our games are limited and our numbers are many. This is the kinda game PVPers look for.
Oh. And please don't be another Auto Assualt. AA had so many great ideas and put most of them into effect, but they did it so horribly the game flopped.
Thanks.
A Work in Progress.

Which is why I stick to my opinion that games should be set to be used for the level of hardware required, not lessened/tweaked/butchered so people with crappy systems can play. Upgrade or stand back while the rest of us play
I think networking (and maybe server side processing) will be the bottleneck for large scale battles. The client should have no trouble. Example:
In Call Of Duty (I) I can play on maps with 50-60 players, without too much lag. And my PC is not the very latest, it has a Pentium 4/2.4 Ghz and a Radeon 9600 pro. Decent but not high end.
Use a typical gamer machine from 2006 and I don't see the client having trouble displaying the graphics. If necessary, I'll upgrade for FE
I totally agree with the original poster on wanting to see some progress, but I don't think anyone could put any weight behind rumours of cancellation.
As for selling the code - that was always Icarus' intention. Have a look at their website. If you read the old developer interviews their goal was always to create a next generation mmorpg engine on which content could be easily built, and this engine would be sold to others. Fallen Earth isn't just a game - it's an advertisement for their engine.
As I understand it they've already sold the engine for one other mmorpg based on some comics? There's a thread somewhere in these forums on it.
I have no fear that FE won't launch.
I'll agree too with the hardcore pvp'ers. I'm not a pvp fan - I'm a fluffy bunny carebear type and I'm perfectly comfortable with that. But I like the realism of open pvp. I'll still play the game and enjoy it, but the zone restricted, faction based pvp is less than what I was hoping for from FE. I had really hoped it would be mostly open pvp (maybe restricted in newbie areas and towns) and more clan (i.e. player) based.
Still, their pvp system looks like a big improvement on games like WoW. The pvp zones sound huge, and filled with towns and stuff - an actual slice of the gameworld as opposed to a limited pvp instance.
Im honeslty much more happy with the devs of Fallen Earth then I am with the other games. They are taking their time, and making the game, as apose to the general business minded release of a game several months early, and the over-hype that could ruin the game.
I have been waiting for this game since the day it was added to mmorpg.com's game list..
Im still waiting ^.^ Next year, when they still havent added anything..
Ill still be waiting ^.^
Plenty of stuff to play until then
