I'm thinking about getting it after playing it on my 360. I was hoping to findout if there is some people that have played the PC and 360 verisons. If you have, which do you think is better? Thanks.

get it for 360 if for no other reason then oblivion is a bitch to run on all but the absolute highest end of PC's

----------------------------- Listen Asmodeeus, seven years ago, Ultima Online didn't even have those pathetic "quests" that you refer to or those "professions" of ninja, samurai, necromancer, and paladin. Nor did it have any of the neon crap, or bug mounts. It didn't even have any "combat moves." You turned on attack and jousted with simplistic swings. It was a better game then. if you can't guess why then just uninstall the thing and move along. - Crabby
IMO there are no reason to deter you away from a simplistic console about such a game...I mean, the game is a charm on a console. The 360 is wonderful for this game, and your controller is just perfect.
The computer "feels" far, you just don't feel as close. I mean, a keyboard and a mouse, this is fine I guess, but if you have the option to be in your couch rather than at the computer, to be using both hands on the control....or to be using a mouse and a keyboard...
Err, the Keyboard is detracting from immersion IMO. In the case of Oblivion, I see no valid point to lose this immersion. I play the first Morrowind on the old Xbox, have a blast. I try the 3rd on my computer, stop after less than 30 minutes and can't even recall anything about it beside not liking it. I play Oblivion on my Xbox360, have a blast. I don't like or stand "Morrowind-ish games" with my keyboard and mouse, unless maybe in a MMO or something...while on my Xbox 360, they are quite cool.
That is as opiniated as it can be. Xbox360 = a wonderfull game. I try on a computer, the 3rd, and even to replay the 1st or 4th...nope, not getting my interest. On a side note, the translation to french is funny...for example, CAST A SPELL has been translated to JETER UN SORT...well, "Jeter un sort" in french would be like a curse, not much variety, just curses. Not to mention that, as a GAMER, jeter = drop...I don't want to drop that spell, I want to cast it...and that is on the MAIN INTERFACE, I will save you the details...anyway...my rant about weak translation, alta vista would have done just as well.

Anofalye made some good points. I love Oblivion, you will waist a lot of your life on this truly fantastic American-Made RPG. I play on 360 and I hear a lot of people buy 360 controlers becuase it don't feel right on the PC. Like Ano said it's all about your personal taste.
Like was said, this all boils down to opinion. Its the same game either way. Are you a keyboard/mouse guy or are you a controller guy? I'm a kb/m guy so I don't even own a 360 (definately lookin forward to the Wii tho ), I played it on PC and loved it.
PC mods are great, I personally get just as absorbed in a game using a keyboard as I do a controller, so the PC version is what I chose.

i think it's better the 360 version....i think that now, the console is the best way to play a game...Pc is great, but the new generation consoles are much better for everything...the gameplay, the graphic the processor speed...for everything.....
i'm sorry if i've made some grammar mistake, but i'm italian, my english is not so good
Ya, I just wanted to get people's opinion, which seems to be 360 in a landslide. I like the game, and the reason I asked was because I know you can get addons for the PC game, but don't think you can for the 360 atm. The controller vs keyboard is a great point, it would be hard to imagine playing with a keyboard after using the controller.
Me and my friend got Oblivion the day it came out. We went to Best Buy together to get our copies. He had an XBox 360, I had my PC (top end). We wanted to experience the game right at the same time. So, we loaded in, made new characters, and then when we were finally, ready, we hit the play button. ...I loaded in a matter of seconds. It took the 360 what seemed like a good 3 minutes to load. And then as soon as he was in, we compared graphics. The game actually looks better on my PC than on the 360 (granted, his does look more polished, but mine has better overall graphics.)
And that, added with the fact that I can download mods to the game and make an almost entirely different but equally--if not more--enticing game, is the reason I'd never want to play it on console. If you're really that much into the xbox controller, there is a way to mod it so that you can use it in USB. Not sure 100% if it'd work with Oblivion, but I don't see why not.

It sounds like most people just have crappy computers.
My computer is an AMD Athlon 64 3700+, 2GB of performance RAM, and an ATI Radeon X1800XL. That's certainly not a high end computer. Cost less than $1000 to build. I play Oblivion on 'Ultra High Settings' with view distance of everything cranked up even higher.
If you don't like keyboard/mouse, just plug in a gamepad. There is nothing stopping you from using gamepads on a PC. I think you can even plug in a 360 controller lol.
If you have a computer purchased/built in the last 2 years, you should be able to play the game on just as high of settings as the 360.
Up to this point, 360 and PC are equal. The big difference for me is the fact that you can install mods for PC. Some of the main mods I have are a saddle-bag on my horse, mods which increase the graphical and sound quality of the environment (they were pretty lazy when it comes to realistic wilderness). I've also instaleld some 'game-balancing' mods. You can make the game more difficult, or easier.
I have a mod, although I've yet to use it, that creates static creature levels. As the game stands, you can kill just about anything in the beginning of the game. At the end of the game, since mobs have leveled WITH you, a bandit down the road has superhuman strength and abilities. The mod makes it so you can't kill the BIG guys in the beginning of the game, but the little guys are easy at the end.
The next benefit is 'total conversion mods'. In a couple of years, there could be mod that turn Oblivion into Middle-earth, ancient rome, or even medieval europe. These haven't been made yet, and may never be, but there is a chance, where on the console there is not.
The modern MMORPG is simply not worthy, of the acronym RPG. The straight grind and lack of atmosphere leave me with no choice. From this day forth, World of Warcraft, Everquest 2, and all the games like them shall be referred to as PIGCRAP. People In Guilds Constantly Raiding And Power-leveling
I played Oblivion on both 360 and PC, 360 is nice and I would have to say that the system is more configured towards the 360 controller then towards the mouse and Keyboard system, however after a little bit you get use to it and can configured things to make it a lot better for yourself. Over all game play I found no difference between the PC version and the 360 version, but now is the time that I am starting to see the differences between the PC version and the 360 version.
You have far more options and add-ons for the PC then you do for the 360. I also really enjoy the PC graphics enhancer guide, if you thought Oblivion was the same on PC and 360, well with the enhancer for PC, believe me Oblivion is jaw dropping on PC. But be warned I will tell you right now no BS, you need yourself at least a high to very high powered graphics card and at least a Pent 4 3.6 or higher or the equivalent in AMD, to run this game smoothly and properly, nothing less will do, not even a 3.2 will give you the true abilities this game has. Bring it on down now.
Damn byotch dat aint no friggn moon fool, dat be a friggn space station byotch.
now that you already have a 360 then get it for 360.. unless you have a high end pc... if not then if you dont wanna spend your time tryin to make it run for the PC then no....

Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.
PC version is the only real choice.
