pigionpigion Member Posts: 53

hello,

i am very interested in playing eve. But before i leave the the university,i have one question. The only computer i will have with me is a new macbook (white, with 2.0 ghz dual-core processer) but would eve client work on a mac? even tho mac has a bootcamp client and can play most pc games becuase of its processor chips. But i was wondering from the people that play it. oh and whats the best race?  or should i say what race mainly uses bullets, or kinetic weapons.

thanks eve players!

idk if EVE works on Macs. I say just throw your macbook in the trash because it's probably of more use to you there.

But anyway, I think Caldari - Achura is the best race IMHO. They have the least amount of Charisma.

Race doesn't matter. Any race can use any ship and any weapon. All that race effects is RP and Attributes.

The races are balanced in different ways. Gallente for me is perfect, I like Hybrid's and drones but the ships are weaker against Caldari missiles..well missiles in general, unless of course you train certian skills the holes fill themselves up. Training helps to balance out the 'Holes'.

Ship selection is not always getting the biggest and most powerful one available to you but using Skills and taking advantage of the bonuses available along with proper weponry.. a Battleship is useless if it has a unskilled pilot with T1 Weps...

EVE will run fine with BootCamp, in fact it will run better on Mac's hardware than most PCs. There is no Mac version of the game, though, only Windows.

Minmatar ships are designed to use projectile weapons, though all weapon types have their strong and weak points. Also, as someone else said, their is no limitation on what equipment or ships you can use based on your race - all you have to do is find the required skill and train it, easy as that. Your starting race and skill selection will only impact your gameplay during the first few weeks before you start build up your own skills choices. Think about what you would like to do for the first few weeks and make you character selection accordingly.
