What exactley am I supposed to be impressed with?

Over a month after being accepted into beta, no disc. No replies to the countless emails I have sent.

Oh here we go, now we can DL it. When I tried, the site's hit rate was exceeded.
No response to my email.

When the page WILL load, the ftp server will not connect.
No response to my emails.


I hope this game is frickin GREAT, because the customer service is WORSE than what I experienced in my 8 months with SWG, and THATS SAYIN SOMETHING.


Has anyone gotten ANY help on these issues from them?

At this point they couldn't pay me to play their game.

Hopefully things change.

I really hope that *insert game name here* will be the first game to ever live up to all of its pre-release promises, maintain a manageable hype level and have a clean release. Just don't expect me to hold my breath.

    It problobly got lost in the mail or its on its way and they arent responding to your emails either one. I hope its the second one.

    You're not a paying customer yet...No one is, thus, they're not getting any money, and thus can't pay a lot of people to work at Customer Service. Maybe that's why they don't have a fully functional customer service up? Yeah. Maybe.

    Seriously, this is a BETA!!! not the full game. SWG had horrible customer service when they started in the ACUAL GAME. They dont need you to beta test, they have many others, they will not send you another set of BETA disks, and unless you are the flipping president of the US they will probably NOT respond to your emails!!!

    Wait for the full game before you go around makeing yourself look like an idiot.

    this has nothing to do with beta/release

    this has to do with what i'm seeing as a potential dev nightmare.

    i dont see what would be so hard in replying to an email asking if there is a delay in the disc shippiung with a simple "yes" or "no".

    i also dont see how this has anything to do with the GAME, which is still in beta.

    i'm speaking from a customer service standpoint, not The Saga of Ryzom the game.

    i cannot judge that, because 1, i have not played it, and 2, it is in beta.

    the fact is there ARE many beta testers, and i am one of them. and this post got me exactley what i was looking for. help from someone who could help me. (thank you, whoever you are anonymous one)

    i now have the game client and will be trying it out this evening. hopefully the devs are just too busy to deal with outside of games to help with a mail fiasco (if thats what it was)

    so thank you anonymous one!!!!!

    and to the flamer, i wasnt asking for more discs. i wasnt demanding help. i was asking for INFORMATION. and i said nothing about the game, so blah blah blah blah.

    i suppose i'm just spoiled by the other betas i am in where 15 seconds after trying to contact a gm, dev, or anythings related, you've got one right there. wish, freeworld, and lineage 2 all have amazing teams, and i suppose this was what i was unreasonably expecting.

    all i wanted was a little info, and i got it from here, which was the reason for the post:)

    funny, I waited 3 weeks for a CD, got the dl, server exceeded, so they let me dl from the ftp direct, got it within that very day.image

    i'm glad to hear that not everyone is having this experience:) the few people i know who got in were going through the same thing I was. that means its not as bad as we feared!!!!! (yayness!)

    Seriously, though, do you really think they check their e-mail and only find your message?  They probably get hundreds of e-mails, and it takes time to get through them, IF they ever do.  And since beta testers and possible beta testers aren't exactly giving them money to play the game, we can hardly expect for them to respond instantly.  Patience is a virtue, and stay calm.  Nothing wrong with you wanting information, but don't post your anger against a company when you haven't given them a single thing.

    Okay heres my 2 cents:

     

    I got e-mail from Theamis...YAY!! Oh wait nevermind, just to confirm my account and WHEN I'll be able to beta test.  I thought I wiould be able to beta test immideatly?  Guess not.  They said in my e-mail, and please tell me if any of you got this

     

    "As soon as you are selected for the Betatest you will receive a second
    e-mail to confirm your participation and your shipping address."

     

    Now if anyone else got this please say yes, this is what has been making me realy angry.  I will not be able to beta test immideatly?  Please tell me one of you didn't get this.

    I got the same first Email you did Colombdawg, but then I did apply just after a whole heap of people had been accepted so i guessed i would have a long wait...... been waiting for a second email over a month now, still hoping..... image 

    Do you think if ya get the first Email you are guarenteed a place in Beta? I would like to think so, ah well, if i have to wait i have to wait image
