If you have a lot of time to play, i can recommend you:
1- Knight Online: good PvP system, and a lot of fun since the first day of playing. ( Good Graphics )
2- Risk Your Life: it's like KO but with the problem that it's still closed beta.. but it really ownz ( Awesome Graphics )
3- Everquest: Good game to explore some cool places and do whatever you like ( Very Good Graphics )
4- Neocron: it's a half-life but in MMORPG. a lot of things to do, weapons to equip, quests to do, a random teleport wich is cool to explore a lots of sites not so near... hehe.. and good PvP system too. ( Very Good Graphics )
5- Mu Online: it's a good game, but a lot of cheaters have pissed it off . you can have good times with that game. ( Nice Graphics )
6- Saga of Ryzom: Open beta will be soon, so it's a nice game to play too, but i know allmost nothing about it. So i better stay at the marge :P ( Impressive Graphics )
7- City of Heroes: the point of the game is that there are a lot of skills and spells, the characters can fly and that is something not much viewed on a mmorpg :P. The bad point of it, is that i want to be a Villain or to PvP, but since everyone are heroes, and the monsters are Villains, i don't thinks there is such a PvP system ( Very Good Graphics )
And thats all from my point of view. I really hope to get "Risk Your Life" invitation to the closed beta
I don't want to recommend a MMORPG because I tend to have different taste in games and look for more unusual qualities in a MMORPG, but I will offer some advice. You may want to take a look at the Current list of games here on the site and read about some of them. Look at the official website for the games that interest you and some fansites. Take a look at Dev chats, interviews, and what is in the works for that particular game. The best thing to do is try out the game either by downloading a free trial that some games have, or apply for beta testing and hopefully you'll get in and get some idea about that game. I often read the posts in forums about what people think of games, I even asked the same question as you once, but I found that I needed to really play a game and see for myself what I wanted. Although people have some good suggestions and opinions about games, don't always go by what everyone else says. Good luck in your search!
P.S. Lineage II, Saga of Ryzom, Everquest II, Dark and Light, and Guild Wars are the games I am curently interested in, all future releases. If you want a game that has been out for a while that is stable and proven, Everquest and Dark Age of Camelot are probably good places to start looking.
Well I would recommend shadowbane as I have found nothing like it before. However my opinion seems to be rare as many people hate the game. Great pvp and citybuilding, some lag and bugs left but the overall fun derived from it is enough to make the bugs and lag tolerable. Its gotten alot better in the last couple months too. There is a one week free trial, if you dont already hate it, try it out. Best advice i can give is to be openminded and patient. Gankings and death abound in the game, just gotta be smart haha. gl in finding a game though
If you want a good MMORPG you can jump into and play right away (for free, for now), download Knight Online. I've been having a great time playing since I downloaded it a few weeks ago.
