i think it will suck ... who wants to play a game where you know the outcome?

not only that its another franchise game ... just because its LOTR it wont need to be anything special

I played Asheron's Call for a long time before I moved onto Dark Age of Camelot. I absolutely loved that game, so my heart wants LOTRO to be something new and fun for Turbine.  But, I just don't see it happening. Thus far the visuals look really nice (reminds me of WoW graphics with some improvements) but the combat looks EXTREMELY basic and boring.  I fear another WoW game...fun for a bit...tedious thereafter.  That said I played WoW fairly hardcore for a long time.

3 stars...simply average for me ( and I may be being kind here).

LOTR is another lame EQ , WoW clone and nothing else... That isn't speculation - It's FACT.

I think I'm going to like it fine. It has enough of the elements that I've been looking for. I've wanted to see a game with a strong main story line like an SRPG in an MMO social setting. Sounds like it delivers that much.

People here are by and large going to hate it. You don't even really need to ask. They were looking for DAOC LOTR. Without RVR and playable Orcs that ship ain't gunna sail. Though really, it isn't like its a suprise or something. When I looked it up as Middle Earth Online umpty-ump years ago the playable races were still Elf, Dwarf, Man, or Hobbit. There weren't any Orcs then either.

I'll go 3.5. I think it'll be polished and well-presented, but I don't see it pushing the genre forward and the lack of real PvP (whether it fits the lore or not) does hurt it a bit. The question of content also comes into play as that was an issue many had with DDO at release.

I think they should of just went with no PvP at all.... I give it a .5

I doubt there will be anything really fun to do that another MMO hasnt done already.
