considering no one even has any real details on it, then i doubt any dates have been published (heard someone say middle of 2007 tho, but once again nothing has been officially announced *that i know of*)

I thought I remember someone that it was said L3 was suppose to be released in early 2007 or something...
But maybe that is just when L3 info will start being released. But who knows. One thing is for sure, I would rather them take their time to release a nice polished, fantastic game, than a partially broken one...
It can't be that far off, like 3 years though. Remember they are using the U3 engine, so in three or maybe even two years I am sure a U4 engine would be developed. So within the next year (2007) I would keep my eyes open.

They said that they would be releasing information about L3 sometime in the beginning of 2007. Not the game.

Lineage 2 was way ahead of its time in terms of graphics, and still is in the west. with Lineage 3 using the unreal 3 engine, I'm really curious what the game is going to look like. I hope a screenshot gets released soon.
You see Gameloading... I'm what's known as a graphics whore. And if the game is visually impressing then that will entice me to play leaving my (now) lvl 75 character to the virtual worms.
So hopefully they will make it look like fluff and sugar so that I don't get seduced.

The economy is sane in L2 now but its a quick fix patch style fix. The "seven signs quest" essentally fixes the weapon cost problem. However its not good enough. To many people either don't understand how to use it or don't care and buy currency anyway.
The grind/content issue...yes again. Way to slow to react. The quick fix is the dropping of instant heal pots while hunting. What kind of solution is that???
Leveling should be coincedental to a fun and engaging play experience.
I really don't get why NCSoft handles the game as poorly as it does. No other game in their portfolio is like L2. Most (if not all) are very content driven. They have reacted far to slowly to the changing demands of the players. This game could be repaired easily. For whatever reasons, they choose not to. Instead they stream in quick fixes wit each new chronicle.
The same thing happened to Turbine with AC. They pushed it off to the side to make AC2 and it got all the attention. Both games ended up dead. (AC has live servers but is just as dead) and tied up with DDO and LotR.
To many irons in the fire. No focus. One disaster after another. L2 is very similar to what happened to AC back a few years ago. Bots where rampid there in its hayday also. As soon as the genre started to grow, people bailed for other games.
L2 was build on the same leveling design principals as the old style grinders like AC and EQ. People don't want that anymore. Players want to have fun and enjoy their game time, and rightfully so. It is a game and we are paying to be entertained.
L3 needs to be the first game to be created that people don't want to use bots, nor buy currency because it is just too damn fun and engaging to let a program or chinese farmer do the work for you!
Yea I am very much looking for L3, but not looking forward to having to buy a new PC to run it.
It was stated that in the first quarter of 2007 "INFORMATION" on L3 will start being released. Maybe something as simple as saying, L3 will take place after L1, or before L2, or something like that....yadda yadda yadda. Maybe we will get a sneak peak at what races they plan on having, etc. Hell, don't even be suprised if we don't have a character model yet by this time. Maybe a bit of concept art...
Beta will probally be released a year after they start releasing information. Beta in Korea that is! So 2008... If Beta goes smoothly then maybe it will be released live in Korea in late 2008 or early 2009. So we in NA will most likely see Beta in NA in Late 2008, or at most 4 months into Korean beta test, depending on how much NCsoft plans on marketing it to North America.
I am waiting for L3! But most likely I will play other games before L3 is released...unless L2 keeps changing and becomes really cool to keep my interest away from games such as Aion and Vanguard.
