PC or Playstation 2?

NintendorkNintendork Member Posts: 20

Hey, now that the PS2 version of this is coming out, I wanna know- who's getting PC and who's getting Playstation 2? I'm getting (actually, keeping) PC because I like the computer more than the PS2. So what do you want?

Do you roleplay in your MMORPG? If not, you are one of those millions of people who irritate me. Congratulations. (My avatar is a Toadutoadu. They're quite common in Mushroom King'diel.)

  • The game is indeed made for PS2, you can tell because the interface is very navigable without a mouse. I can see alot of people coming to the game from the PS2 if it werent so damn expensive.

    "Pah..."

I'll be arriving on the PS2 version. And about the cost, its cheaper than my Steel Battalion. But anyways, yeah...PS2 for me...

Its the same game..if you have a PC capable of running it nicely...then save yourself 50 bucks and get the PC version. image

So, the WoW beta sign up has finally begun. The time for thousands and thousands of middleaged virgins to apply and get rejected is at hand.

Well i'm currently using the PC version, and my cousins use the PC version but bought the usb adapter that attaches the PS2 control, they like the ease of use it offers, since FFXI is essentialy a ps2 game. For easier use of the keyboard go to config and switch the keyboard to compact.

Yeah, but some people (like me) had to get their graphics card updated which costs much more (about $250 at minimum overall).

I am of course playing on my PC because the graphics are way better and I have no problem using my keyboards and mouse. Although I hope someone I know gets it on Ps2 because it would be awesome to see the game on a big screen.

Errr... if you do use it often, I suggest you use it properly (at first I thought "bacily" was "badly" and not "basically"). With that in mind, you should also learn to spell better. Sorry if that sounded harsh, but it's just annoying when people type like that.

oops(did I spell oops right) Sorry I didn't know that not spelling correctly was that big of a problem for people, I will try harder next time as not to make people angry.

Sorry if that sounded a little harsh Err I mean sarcastic but it really bothers me when people correct me when it really is not needed.

I wasn't correcting you, just saying I could barely make out what you posted.

I've never played an MMORPG. I'm a diehard console gamer, so sitting in front of a monitor just seems like work to me.  I'll be getting it on the 23rd for the PS2, I already shelled out $70 for the Logitech Netplay Controller.

I've got three friends playing it already on PC in the Caitsith, Diabolos, and Shiva servers.

Also, I've been looking forward to the PS2 release since I heard the first rumors of XI being online-only; so hopefully I didn't waste my time and money for it.

Rumors? If you think that's a rumor, I think you should find out a little more information on the game before buying it. Yes, that "little" was sarcastic because it's the thing that makes FFXI FFXI.

What's your deal with trying to correct people?

I was only stating that I'd been looking forward to XI from when I'd HEARD THE FIRST RUMORS of it being online.

I've been looking forward to it since before the Japanese release in 2002.

    I suspect schitzophrenia.

Oh, sorry, I thought you were saying you just heard those rumors. Also that wouldn't be correcting you because correcting someone means "fixing their mistakes," not "pointing out you should know more about a game before getting it."

I've done my research on the game, I bought the PC version strategy guide months ago just so I could familiarize myself with the interface and the basics of the game.

I didn't want to start the game and spend hours just to learn how to perform menial tasks, or bore more experienced players with questions like "what's a tank?" or other seemingly braindead noob questions.

Good idea, but I think they're going to make a new one as soon as the PS2 comes out (notice it specifically gives the platform of the game on the front), but it's always best to come adjusted to the game first!

Yeah, my friend on the Shiva server told me that buying a strategy guide for an MMORPG is a waste of time because things are constantly changed/updated, but I just wanted to get a head start before meandering my way through the game.

That's what I was thinking, but not fot a game as huge as Final Fantasy XI- it basically gives everything you need to know, like jobs, current quests from when it was made (not much different from now, actually), missions, city attributes, current items- it's just a... just a... wow.
