Could someone please provide confirmation of John Smedley's email address?

** Also Julio Torres email at LA since it appears he is CCed.

I just received an email that appears legitimate, but I would like to verify the email address.  I traced it back to the origin, the namespace is right, just want to be sure before I post the details.

Oh, and I will upload the actual message including headers so anyone can verify it, I just want to verify before I do so...so as to avoid a flamefest.  Thanks again, and let me know if any of you received the same email...

    Never received any warning or banning, sorry.  Just have not been interested in anything SWG, SOE or LA for quite a while.  And the only reason I am here now is this stupid email is mentioning some very interesting items of disagreement between myself and those listed.

    It's either John.Smedley @ sonyonlineentertainment.com or John.Smedly @ SOE.com. They changed from one to the other, but I can't remember which is now accurate. Google him and you'll find it.

    I'll start my own SWG... with Black Jack... and Hookers!!!

    Cannot confirm Julio though.  It appears this email is legit, I am going to upload it as an attachment,  I have a feeling this is going to be going around to the vets who no longer subscribe.  It appears they are going to try and make a push to get back the vets  Best of luck, I am done myself.

    Well..If true, I would give them a little cred just for reaching out (even though it's probably too little too late). I can't imagine what they could say to me besides "PreCU FTW!!!" that would get me back though lolol.

    Any and all e-mail information can be spoofed, including, at the simplest level, the sender, and at the perhaps more difficult end, the origin IP.

    Headers are basically worthless for authentication.

    That is true, but I'm sure Smed would confirm or deny it himself if asked as he's done in the past.

    Pre-CU servers or bust.  If I am going to wait 6 months for someone to develop something, I'll wait on the ducks.

    What they may offer is to re-impliment Pre-CU (sort of) on the NGE framework.  Not good enough.  Load up pre-CU servers, make sure they run, then leave them the hell alone.

    He hasn't posted there in ages. I doubt you'd get any response there. Once this supposed email has been uploaded, somebody email him. Simple.

    He wasn't very clear, I think on purpose. I think if he asked "what is your favorite pet" all hell would break loose. As it stabds now most people are posting aboput CH pets.

    Ignore this entire post...it has to be fake.  The content itself is enough for me to say foul.  Forget it.  Both email addresses are "valid", receive mail, and are relevant.  The content of the message itself is, quite simply, too good to be true and way too little too late.  Move along, move along.

    HMM now I am really intrested. If both email address were valid and confirmed, why would the contents of the email be fake?

    Unless while confirming the contents with Smed, he was asked to keep this on the downlow for right now, which I could understand.
