       Still going WoW. I hate the friggin' game, I know it does nothing new, I know the universes for both WarCraft and StarCraft were ripped from the backs of Warhammer and Warhammer 40K, but it's just... likeable. Even though I quit, I still have to say it's the current best. image

    Didn't put Ultima Online or Shadowbane, both of which are my two favorites, with Planetside at 3rd (even though it's a  MMOFPS).

    I went with: all of them suck balls.



    Two reasons why the current MMORPGs suck.



    1.  You can't do a good rpg in a massively multiplayer format, you lose
    out on GMs controlling stories for small groups of people - muds can pull it
    off but MMOs can't - so stop trying.



    2.  Auto target - Tab to target , then hit the same series of hot keys
    is mostly the same order - over and over.  This is fun how?  The auto
    target and slow paces gameplay started with early MMOs because of networking
    issues.  They had the keep things slow or everyone would lag.  Its time to move past that.



    For a game to be fun it has to be challenging - if you're going to use auto
    target then you need to add strategy (and lots of it).  And hitting the
    same 6 or so skills in the same order all the time is NOT strategy.

    When you do make a poll like this, could you maybe make a choice for "None of them". I mean the other mmorpg's don't suck at all, but but are for me not the best. So if you want a poll that really reflects the people on this board, either put all mmorpg's in the poll or have a none of the above choice. its only fair.

     

    For me still the best is Ultima Online.

    I pretty much agree with the poll, every game out atm is trash but if you had to pick one WoW is best (by far). The numbers speak for it. Its back to no#1 seller last few weeks and looks to be staying that way for months after BC.

    INC 10 million subs!

    U'er right! I think the same! I try a lot of mmorpg but i like the Kalonline :)

    By this logic, we should all pick Mcdonalds to eat at, and Walmart to shop. The numbers speak for themselves, they must be the best around. To heck with places like Red Lobster and Best Buy, they are teh suck.

    WOW does have good points, it has its weaknesses as well, dont assume that because a lot of gamers did choose WOW that its the best for everyone.

    Age dosen't make a difference; I played DAoC to RR5 when I was 13, this
    kid just happens to be a generic noob that somehow found his way to
    these forums.

    Untill you grow up and learn to use proper grammer, or at least something remotely resembling it, you have no right whatsoever to be insulting others on this or any forum.

    Bear in mind, when I say grow up, I am talking about a state of mind, not the years since your birth.

     

    Incidently, I am currently a college student, working on my masters degree. No one who has ever taken a glance at me has ever called me little except as a joke. Additionally, if you were here, I would and could most certainly do something about that attitude of yours, someone has to before your life is the one going nowhere.
