Cd key to trial?

Ive always thouhgt everquest looked like the best game, but I never had the internet connection to play it, but in time I tried and fell in love with eq2. But now I realize that I really should and want to try what started it all, Everquest. Ive searched today for trials, downloaded a few and installed them. So far so good, but the problem is that I cannot find any trial cd key's? Where I download the trial it says its free and you can become lvl 10 etc etc. But where is the key? How do I active what an trial account?

Please help me out here :)

Once you reach lvl ten on the trial, you have to purchase the game and then log back into the trial and type /transfer <server name> then about 20-30  min later you can log into your new server with your character.

I am so good, I backstabbed your face!

You better off playing Eq2 cause if you start on this game you are going to be at the bottom and trying to catch the ppl at the top is going to take 20 years by that time you wasted 20 years for what?  Everyone on everquest 1 is out for themselves you wont ever get in the action till atleast 10 years.  And the way they comming out with expansions to catch up you it will take 20 so you better off staying where your somewhat ahead and i dont like soe and im giving you the right advice though.

What an exaggeration. Yes it will take time to be one of the top players in the game, but i know a couple people that have started in the last year that have eclisped my character, and he is no slouch.

I always lend a hand to new players. I have "Fletching Day" in Kelethin, where I OOC free bows, tailored quivers, and arrows, and I power buff every noob I see in game. When I play my low level toons, I try to grab all the new players I can, and log my high level alts in zone for group buffs.

There are alot of other players on my server that are very willing to help anyone, free of charge. I don't know where you get the idea that players are out for themselves. I have gone 150% out of my way to aid brand new EQers in becomming familiar with the game, and encouraged them to stick with the game. You must have met the handfull of jackass players and got the wrong idea about the whole server.

I highly advise any new players to do all the newbie armor tasks in thier home cities. It's good for character development, and a good exercise for players to learn gameplay from. I had alot of fun doing them for the Druid I just created recently, and it reminded me of what it was like to start new. The new expansion has made new character development, and equipment easier. Noob armor there is what level 50s were using 2 years ago.

  • Thanks for all the replies but none really answered my question, ive downloaded several trials from the net. They look the same and im downloading updating etc, then entering the game, entering my account(previously eq2 account) then it says I have to pay to play, and im directed to a new page. Ive also tried to make a new station account, same thing happens. So how exactly can I play to lvl 10 for free?

*Character advancement is limited to level 10 in this trial. To continue to play after level 10 and/or on a traditional EverQuest server, you must purchase the retail package version of EverQuest® from a participating retailer or download the digital version of EverQuest: Trilogy (original EverQuest, EverQuest: The Ruins of Kunark expansion pack and EverQuest: The Scars of Velious expansion pack) for free by clicking here. and following the instructions. In addition, to continue to play EverQuest after the trial, you will have to update your account with a valid credit card or official SOE Game Card to pay the recurring subscription fee and then you can pick up right where you left off in your trial by logging in under the same Station Account.

Now, since I'm a paid player I don't know how this works, I can tell you that the old trial required a credit card that wasn't billed, however, this new systems says if you install it and then fill out the station information, it should work up to level 10

I can also tell you that you are not going to get a CD key, legally, without buying the game.

Your best bet would be to try this link and/or contact Sony's customer service...

My dog barks some. Mentally you picture my dog, but I have not told you the type of dog which I have. Perhaps you even picture Toto, from "The Wizard of Oz." But I warn you, my dog is always with me.

The link in the above quote didn't work, however the quote is from the fine print on the page linked above by Fogel...

    GLuck

  • Okey guess I'll just keep trying, either that free trial needs sorting or im dumb as a rock :)
