Throw graphic card in the garbage?

in Everquest II

I have a Gforce 4 TI (128 MB) on 8X AGP -->  is it going to cut through? image

Here is more info about my comp.

Pentium 4 2.4 GHz

Motherboard : P4C800 Deluxe (Asus)

1 Gig of DDR 400 in Dual-Channel (Corsair)

    Your Geforce 4 Ti will work alright but it would be better if you went with a newer card in the Geforce FX series.  The rest of your system will be good for EQ2, also.

    Well, that also depends on your GForce TI model and the model of the GFFX card.. My TI4600ultra is more powerfull than many of the lower end GforceFX cards but if your comparing a low end Gforce TI vrs a high end GFFX then yeah you might want to get a new card.. You might also check with the ATI cards also.. right now they seem to be producing better image quality than the FX series cards.. but I have not really compared them in the last two or three weeks..

    Another thing that would help.. if you have a 800MHz board you might think of upgrading to a 3.0+ 800FSB Pentium4... I had a 2.26 p4 with 533 and when I changed to my 3.0 P4 and a new board I noticed a very nice increase...

    The top of the line Geforce 4 Ti cards are only better the Geforce FX 5200.  And I would recommend first upgrading your video card over the processor.

    Ohhhh

    I checked and the stats of my graphic card, which is :a GeForce 4 TI 4200 (128MB) on 8 X AGP to be exact.

    The guy who build my system told me that my motherboard support the 800 FSB and that he make my memory run lower since it's only the processor who can't run at 800... it's running at 532 FSB? if i remember what he told me.  (cuz when he built my gaming machine a year ago, i think? he told me to keep my processor since it's good enough and to upgrade it later since my Motherboard can support the 800 fsb thing)

    I've decided to upgrade my graphic card in a few months (i have plenty of time since they keep pushing EQ2...image) and i'll consider an ATI. You guys are not the first ones to tell me to get an ATI. Looks like NVIDIA is not making such great products like it was b4...

    Yes, Yordo is right... In the case of your 4200 it would be better for you to go with a new videocard.. check these sights out for help choosing..

    Awsome !! The only part that makes me sad is that i bought that graphic card about a year ago...oh well i'll just give my old GeForce 4 to someone in need.

    oh gee! I want the ATI Radeon 9800XT 256MB...By the time EQ2 come out on the market i shall have it.. I'll start putting 75$ per months and hopefully in a few months the price for that Radeon will be much lower... Especially that here, in Canada, when a graphic card is 400$ US it's like around 600 CD..!! Ouch to my wallet! image  <--- LOL!
