Style of gameplay?

Is it first-person style like RYL or click-and-watch combat like Guild Wars?

If it's click-and-watch, it goes on my avoid list.

If it's first-person style, I also recommend a camera position behind the character, or even better, zoomable all the way from through the eyes to behind the character so everyone gets the view they prefer.

    I havent played Riskyourlife but the game will be something like FPS with less twitch required.

    you will be either running away or casting away no more click and watch. It is the game's mechanic to require you to use lower level attacks/spells to build charge (mana) so that you can use the bigger ones. Also add to that the fact that 90% of skills are instant cast, so it is pretty much like FPS.

    From what I hear/see its a 3rd person view but it might have 1st person too I don't know.  I also hear that there is no auto attack function so you are pretty much inputing commands for every attack you do.  The onlything that seems to be point and watch are teh deathblow functions which kinda act like fatalities in MK, or stealth kills in tenchu where you perform a situational attack and watch the carnage unfold.

    It will be 'wasd' and 3rd person. It is not a twitch game like an fps, you will still need to target players and activate skills.

    Waiting For;
    Aion
    Warhammer Online
    Darkfall
    Project Offset

    From what I've heard, seen and read from the site and other media its a typical wasd w/ alot of spells so its prolly 3rd person and the only clicking youll be doing depends on your play style...

    Just confirming what the others have said, really. 3rd person view, only 1 action per button/press/... (no 'autofire'). Haven't read about the targetting but being 3rd person i imagine it's by selection (like WoW) not with crosshairs (like an FPS), however it is fast-paced.

    I got to play Fury at PAX and can hopefully clear a few things up.

    The game IS 3rd person view. It's not quite as twitchy as say Unreal, but is still EXTREMELY fast pased. You target characters by clicking on them, and then activate your skills with the standard number key hotbar. Even though you are casting spells and using skills, the longest spell takes at MOST, 1.5 seconds to cast. From my experience, spell casters absolutely OWN because melee fighters actually have to get right next to their target, making it much more difficult. Also, I got to interview the lead game dev for about 45 min, (and about another 20 after he bummed a smoke off me), and they decided to cut the concept of "mana" out of the game, because he thinks it isn't as fun if you have to worry about running out of power. I happen to disagree, because mana is what keeps a spellcaster's power in check (which is another major reason they own). He gave me his card, so if I hear anything more from him, I'll let you all know :)

    Happing hunting!
