To me...the way i think of ac...is like this great city from history or mythology. Kind of like eve...where the world was great and amazing...and when you try and visit again its just ruins and dust...and shadow of it's once former glory. When i log onto ac now i still enjoy the play somewhat...but i mostly spend time remembering....embracing the memories of the sounds and sights....of the challenges and triumphs of ac.

I think AC deserves a big HUZZAH for everything that it has given its loyal players....for how beautiful it really was.

btw...my favorite memory is of running big quests in ac...and being so nervous and excited that i would shake...

that or not being able to sleep b/c i was looking forward to playing ac that much.

Yeah, I'll definately give a nice big salute to what AC did in its glory days. In its prime it gave me the best gaming days of my life, and to this day I look forward to any game which might take the ideas that it had and run with them.

My fondest memories were of what my old guild on Darktide tried to do when the game started up. We tried to make Eastham a peaceful zone where new players could get their feet wet without getting slaughtered by PK's. Didn't quite work out, but it was fun to actually feel like you were advancing some sort of ideals in a virtual world and making a difference.

    Amen.

I have so many many fond memories... from logging in and getting slaughtered at the shoushi outpost by level's 8's, to becoming an anti under xanthro and trying to defend all that was good! To finally joining blood and going postal :)

I remember i was addicted...unable to sleep, trying to quit, during my final school exams all i could think about was getting home to play some more AC!

I remember seeing my first atlan...a staff, hitting me over the head... and that loud scream of pain!

Ohhhh....will there ever be another game that can compete???

    I miss you AC....

The good old days, I wish they would come back.

I remember trying to mule around Eastham and right before I could log out I got a crossbow bolt in the back on my head.  Next thing I remember was me on the ground.  It was the thrill of never being able to do anything without the change of getting caught.image

Not everyone running around with the same MOD equipment like the other games.

There will never be a game as good as this one IMO.

Thanks for the great memories AC.image

The only thing that was better about the old days were the amount of players and noobs among them.

This game is improved in every other possible way. I am tired of
repeating this, and I challenge anyone to say what was better about the
old days other than players and noobs.

Yeah. Sleepless nights were a problem for me too. heheh. AC was like the only one of 2 or 3 games that had done that to me before. But with all the new games that are so alike (full of bugs, overhyped, or half-complete upon release), I'm sleeping quite well now - especially when I'm playing them.

well...players were a HUGE part of it....

There actually being a point to exploring b/c although a few dungeons were better...they werent so better that exploring was nearly pointless as far as leveling went.

Spell economy....sure its great for lazy people...but i think having to learn your spells and carrying components (not just tapes and scarabs) was much nicers.

The lower levels virtually dont exist...sure you can still explore them...but whats the point...almost ALL new content is high end based and if you arent VERY careful you can blow through level 20 in like 4 hours of NOT power leveling.

Back when you didnt level so fast it was worth it to do a mediocre quest b/c the item would be good for a while...now its completely pointless.

This game became a power levelers game b/c it used to be a community game and it lost its community.

SURE...its still great....but its not what it used to be...not at all.
