Ya I played tried the Fung Wan beta one night.  I believe the server is in Japan or something though, so there was constant lag for me.

In fact the server is in Malaysia and yes the lag is horrible.

    Kinda entertaining game though.

Well??? Umm that cerainly was an experience. I think.image. *Ahem* ya know maybe I should keep waiting for the games I know I want and not just the open ones. First I had 639 updates to do before the game would run, the update installer kept failing, and once I got in it was just the same 4 buttons over and over. There were was no main objective, none, nada, zip, zero.

It took me longer to download the beta then to play it and get tired of it.image

    Was that a game???image Yuck!

Yeah waiting for the game you want always blows.

I remember AO.I was in the AO chat room every free night I had.I even met a developer in earl's court when they came to show AO in a convention in london.Guess when I got in?Open/stress beta for like a week!!

DAoC.Did not even remember applying to be a beta tester.Had zero knowledge of the game.Never read or posted on a fan/offical forum but got in right at start of beta 2.

Keep hoping bro and you get in and yes Fung online gets boring very fast.Played it 1 night myself and deleted it.

My advice is to have a list of games you want to beta, and to apply to ALL of them.  You're bound to get into one of them.  Just hope it's the one you really want to play.

    Socializer 73%
    Explorer 66%
    Achiever 53%
    Killer 6%

    Killer 100% Socializer 40% Explorer 33% Achiever 27%

I was beta testing the same game and had no problems. Report what you have a problem with. After all that is what the beta is for anyways.

Yeah, just apply to several games that you are interested in.  Especially if the game you are waiting for is really popular, the chances of getting in are not very high.  While you are waiting, you can just play Knight Online for now.  You automatically get in once you sign up at e-games and download the client.

I beta tested Fungwan Online in 2003, with the old graphics. It was no good. I wouldn't even bother trying it again.

    It's a crappy game.

I was in Fung Wan long time ago, it didn't really "pull me in" although I really like the whole martial-arts/taoist magic kinda thing, if it had more advanced graphics, deeper game-play I'd probably love, maybe. Anyway I've been in a huge number of betas and I agree with what someone said, apply to all those you have a interest in (even some you don't because you don't know, it might be a really great game that just hasn't gotten any good publicity yet), you'll probably end up in some of them. And of course you never really know if you'll like it until you're in, you might be surprised!  I remember anarchy's beta it was a disaster! DAoC had a fantastic beta, it was great! Star Wars, and Horizons were very great disapointments... I've found you can get a pretty good idea how a game is going to turn out by the involvement of the developers with the testing community, if they're distant, and un-connected it'll probably be a lousy game when it goes live. If they are really in there, posting/responding on beta forums, and responding to emails, really listening to the posted comments, the game tends to be more stable, and more enjoyable. At least thats what I've found/experienced.
