Burning Crusade...

I hear that BC is extened to January? Did they say at all even when in Janurary it would be coming out.  Personally I think it is pretty stupid that they have extened it, I have been looking forward to it for a long time.  But I guess they either have something to fix and stuff.  Still it is pretty sweet that this is coming out.  I do agree though with that other guy talking about BC coming out and doing raids in WoW.  I agree... why just not wait till BC comes out, because like he said, why gain a few more items to lvl a little bit easier, its only a "little" bit easier, just think!  It's going to be awesome, with all they've done, not to mention the Warcraft movie they are supposedly making!

If it was SOE it would have been released 2 years ago with 10% of the content all broken.

You give them too much credit.  It would have been announced 2 years ago, released 1 year ago with 100% of the content broken, bugged, or otherwise imbalanced, with no new races or classes and maybe 5% more land-mass to the overall game.  However, it would cost 30 bucks more than normal for the base edition and the collector's edition
would have had a scratched CD of the soundtrack along with an art book 2 pages thick (4x8 inch book) and there'd be a brass plated "gold coin" of a useless currency found in it as well that costs aprox. 2 cents to make.

I'm not saying anythiing bad about Blizzard or BC.  I'm just saying like why do raids in WoW and just get few more items so that you can lvl easier to lvl 70 when BC comes out.  I understand why the extened it, I think some of you are taking it the wrong way, no offense att all!

Apparently BC needs more "fine tuning" and "polishing" before it's released.

In the first place waiting 2 years to release an expansion is inexcuseable.  Don't spam out expansions like SOE does, but every 12-18 months I think would be good.   If they release it in January that will be 26 months between initial release and first expansion, that is way too wide of a margin.

The health of WoW would of been better had the content patches been more meaningfull.  Let's face it, if someone hasn't played in say 6 months and logs back in now, would they see any evidence of a Scourge Invasion?  AQ War?  Early patches added Maraudon and Dire Maul, but then content trailed off to tweaking talent trees (which is NOT balancing a class) and adding more raid content.

Pushing back BC a month before the release date is a bad sign.  Blizz can spin it any way they want but it doesn't bode well if they having "issues" this late in development.

The delay of BC just goes to show that Blizzard is by no means invincible.  Regardless of their reasoning behind it, it's still a sign of Blizzard's weakness and does perhaps tie in with SOE; as this expansion seems to satisfy more of what the developers think players want, rather than what they're really looking for.  These assumptions destroyed SOE and could very easily repeat with Blizzard if they're not careful.

It's classic Blizzard. They build it all up "Oh man, its coming are you ready! well guess what... We're delaying it another 3 months"

Oh well, just another 3 months I'm not paying to play. With only 3 things to do at high levels (Sitting in Town, Battlegrounds, Raids) I'd rather waste my time elsewhere

I'll check back in January to read about how it'll be delayed again.

so, they delay release to fix most of the bugs, rather then release bugged content inorder to make a killing on sales, and you complain...

i'm sorry that content patches do not satisfy you. (although i'm with you on the scourge invasion, it was way too short and didn't really have the epic quality of the AQ gates opening efforts (which, by the way, are still available to you on newer servers, and the epic questline is avbailable to everyone provided they can foot the bills for it)) but i would like to point it out to you most of those content patches are the size of other game's expensions, and that WoW initial released content was several cuts above it's paralel MMOs.

while WoW has it's fault, i don't see pushing the expension back a few months as a cause for people to go up in arms (besides, it gives me the time i want to rest up from the game and have fun in EVE and GW image)

I am not really complaining, more like pointing out something I felt was obviously "fishy".  image

As far as delaying the release to fix bugs, they have had 2 years and they still can't get it right?  I even read they had to change male blood elves because they were too feminine?  Uh, that's a major bug fix?  image

I also don't see how the patches in WoW do that much really.  A few bug fixes, tweak a talent tree, and a world event that lasts a week that only benefits high level people.  Content wise, they started off well (Maraudon was added in 1st patch I beleive), but then quickly trailed off to the More Raid/Grind patches they doing lately.  CoX has had far more significant patching through it's 7 content patches.  It is too easy in WoW for someone to log in and actually not even notice there was a patch, which shows the patches are light on change and/or content.

I know some got upset with BC being pushed back since they can't get a fresh WoW Fix.  I was pointing out that missing the holiday shopping season is usually something game companies try to avoid.  Especially when you push the date back a month before initial release.  This would of been less of a big deal had they said in May they were pushing it back til January.

I think they would rather have it released in January and have the servers go down a lot for a few weeks instead of the holiday season, then have the servers acting funny for a few weeks. They would probably have problems going into Christmas messing up peoples holidays.

well no matter what they do something will still mess up when it goes live...its blizzard...and dont doubt it if they delay it for another month or two when it comes to January
