    Well lets see, the community is ok, there are a lot of people that are real jack@$$$ though. One thing about the community that you might want to know is that in some of the towns there are a bunch of noobs that start a "naked dance party" where people dance all of each others characters not wearing any clothes, I don't know about you but I hate games where there are dumb people that do that kind of stuff. Anyways, the PvP is pretty good, they have guild battles and stuff like that. I think the biggest a PvP battle can get up to is 12 vs 12, I'm not quite sure. About the activeness, I found it got really boring really fast after I hit level 20 because I didn't really have anything else to do. It might be because I'm not one of those people in games that are really good at getting money really fast or anything like that, but if you are you can go farming and stuff like that. Other than that, I guess it is an ok game. I like WoW more though, but you might like Guild Wars alot.

    Guild wars is meant to be small unit tactical game.  8v8 in GvG and 12v12 in alliance battles.  I seriously doubt it will ever reach the 100+ vs 100+ type thing that I know you seem to be after from threads in other forums.

    However for the 8v8 scale of things it is, IMO, bar none the best.  But due to network architecture and Anet's focus on focused and directed PvP I doubt it will reach the scale you desire.

    By far gw as the best pvp ive ever played! The Pve some people were disapointed, i really like it. There are alot of jaks out there dont listen to them they dont know what they are talking about

    Just try it an u will love it

    Whenever i step outside, somebody claims to see the light
    It seems to me that all of us have lost our patience.
    'cause everyone thinks they're right,
    And nobody thinks that there just might
    Be more than one road to our final destination--

    Other than the messages that say "WTS..." and "WTB..." there really isn't neone talking in the general, but guild chat can be cool. the gameplay itself is all instanced and repetative and you do some missions that vary in concept. This game IMO is good the first time through, other than that you probly have nothing else to play or you are a dedicated playerimage

    This isn't an mmorpg. The community are 12 year old runescape fan
    noobs, the PvP is either to easy or to hard, there is little PvE
    content, everyone looks the same, and everything is instanced except
    cities. I wasted 50 bucks on the game but if you're a noob I bet you'll
    like it.

    It's wildly filled with people spamming sexual and commercial content. It's not the worlds best community to play with. Allthough I dislike this mess of a community, I always seem to find good people to quest with.

    How is the PvP?
    I think the PvP is very witful and engageing. it's fast and cruel. And the good part is that the biggest piece of the match begins before the match even begins. With planning and making builds.

    How big can PvP get up to?
    I'm not an expert and haven't gotten all too far, but rather big. Above 10 people.

    Is there alot of PvP?
    It's a 100% PvP game to heart. If you like PvP, try this. Allthough there's no sandboxing or RvR it's still fun. I feel the same intensitivity in a PvP match in GW as in ... let's say a match of Counter Strike. The PvP contains a wide variety of different game modes. Defeating the other team, capture flags, 1v1 duels with your customized NPC's and more of I have yet to explore.

    Is this game active.  By active I mean tons of stuff to do?
    I quest,  gather skills,  craft armor pieces, PvP and  do  missions. To me there has never been nothing to do.  At the end  it's getting a good guild and batteling other guilds or even try to become the world champions. So for those who seek more of a PVE content ending of the game should be careful.

    * Is the community good and mature?
    No more, no less than your average MMORPG. There are jerks, spammers, etc. but there are also a lot of people that help others and are pleasant to hang around it. Trust me when I say that the social fun in this game is all about guild and friendlist: the so-called PUGs (Pick-Up Group) can often be a frustrating experience.
    All in all, the community is what you would expect from a popular game. No Ryzom-style "everyone's your friend", the competitive nature of the game itself makes the difference.

    * How is the PvP?
    Biased answer: it is awesome. Going objective: it's extremely balanced and requires skill, battle awareness, micro/macro, planning, strategy, good communication and coordination. Guild Wars PvP is team PvP first, it has extreme depth (despite the relative ease of control and UI) and -- since the metagame switches so often -- no one will ever really master it. Oh, also everyone plays on the same ground in matter of level and equipment, so you'll only be beaten by skill and experience, not by gear.

    * How big can PvP get up to?
    As big as 12v12, NPCs not included. Guild Wars is no mass siege/gank game, it's very technical and keeps the teams limited. There's 4v4 arenas, 6v6 Heroes' Ascent (a tournament mode), 8v8 Guild vs Guild, and 12v12 Alliance Battles (only with Factions).

    * Is there alot of PvP?
    You could say the endgame is PvP. A lot of players barely touch PvP, preferring to concentrate on PvE, but -- despite being mostly a PvPer -- I think that to truly enjoy GW you must experience both sides.

    * Is this game active.  By active I mean tons of stuff to do?
    When I'm not on GvG battle schedule with my guild, I seriously can't decide what to do. Whether to go farm up some gold to buy new armor, open a few chests in search for a rare skin weapon, grab my Necromancer and capture some elite skills, quest with my Assassin, or join a group for end-game PvE areas with my Elementalist; or I can just roll a PvP Monk and do some random arena, try to find a group in the Heroes' Ascent tournament, get some "massive" mayhem in Aliance Battles.
    There's a lot of things to do in GW, and the good thing is that no one of them feels like a "waste of time". Everything goes at your pace, you decide what to do.

    ::::12::

    No more, no less than Diablo 2 or a korean MMORPG without fee. Guilds exist there also.
