. Hey guys I am strongly considering this game but I dont know if I should buy it. What are your opinons and here are a few quesions:
Is the community good and mature?
How is the PvP?
How big can PvP get up to?
Is there alot of PvP?
Is this game active. By active I mean tons of stuff to do?
Thank you for answering these quesions I have been looking for a new MMO and this one looks good but, looks can be decieving.

Playing now: Cities: Skyline / Ori and the Blind Forest / Banished
All I have to say is
Wait wait wait so PvP can only go up to 12 ppl vs 12 ppl ??? Awww thats not fun . So there are no massive battles???
And naked ppl ummmm check please.
However for the 8v8 scale of things it is, IMO, bar none the best. But due to network architecture and Anet's focus on focused and directed PvP I doubt it will reach the scale you desire.
By far gw as the best pvp ive ever played! The Pve some people were disapointed, i really like it. There are alot of jaks out there dont listen to them they dont know what they are talking about
Just try it an u will love it
Whenever i step outside, somebody claims to see the light
It seems to me that all of us have lost our patience.
'cause everyone thinks they're right,
And nobody thinks that there just might
Be more than one road to our final destination--
noobs, the PvP is either to easy or to hard, there is little PvE
content, everyone looks the same, and everything is instanced except
cities. I wasted 50 bucks on the game but if you're a noob I bet you'll
like it.
This game has barely any pve, but pvp is pretty good.

And I don't want to hear anything about "I don't believe in vampires" because *I* don't believe in vampires, but I believe in my own two eyes, and what *I* saw is ******* vampires! "
* Is the community good and mature?
No more, no less than your average MMORPG. There are jerks, spammers, etc. but there are also a lot of people that help others and are pleasant to hang around it. Trust me when I say that the social fun in this game is all about guild and friendlist: the so-called PUGs (Pick-Up Group) can often be a frustrating experience.
All in all, the community is what you would expect from a popular game. No Ryzom-style "everyone's your friend", the competitive nature of the game itself makes the difference.
* How is the PvP?
Biased answer: it is awesome. Going objective: it's extremely balanced and requires skill, battle awareness, micro/macro, planning, strategy, good communication and coordination. Guild Wars PvP is team PvP first, it has extreme depth (despite the relative ease of control and UI) and -- since the metagame switches so often -- no one will ever really master it. Oh, also everyone plays on the same ground in matter of level and equipment, so you'll only be beaten by skill and experience, not by gear.
* How big can PvP get up to?
As big as 12v12, NPCs not included. Guild Wars is no mass siege/gank game, it's very technical and keeps the teams limited. There's 4v4 arenas, 6v6 Heroes' Ascent (a tournament mode), 8v8 Guild vs Guild, and 12v12 Alliance Battles (only with Factions).
* Is there alot of PvP?
You could say the endgame is PvP. A lot of players barely touch PvP, preferring to concentrate on PvE, but -- despite being mostly a PvPer -- I think that to truly enjoy GW you must experience both sides.
* Is this game active. By active I mean tons of stuff to do?
When I'm not on GvG battle schedule with my guild, I seriously can't decide what to do. Whether to go farm up some gold to buy new armor, open a few chests in search for a rare skin weapon, grab my Necromancer and capture some elite skills, quest with my Assassin, or join a group for end-game PvE areas with my Elementalist; or I can just roll a PvP Monk and do some random arena, try to find a group in the Heroes' Ascent tournament, get some "massive" mayhem in Aliance Battles.
There's a lot of things to do in GW, and the good thing is that no one of them feels like a "waste of time". Everything goes at your pace, you decide what to do.
No more, no less than Diablo 2 or a korean MMORPG without fee. Guilds exist there also.
