The delay of BC is hurting us.

Ok, so we all know the BC won't be out till Jan next year. Hurting? Get over it. I always has a feeling that BC was still way off from being released late this year. To them, they don't mind...they get an extra 2 months subscription charge while you have to wait around IF and doing ZG again for the 100th time.

Do I really care? Nop.  I've already cancelled my account because I know BC is just more of the same, just a new look to the endless grind that follows....lol.

OR, you could all come over and join me in the world of Guildwars, where PVP is skill-based and the missions and quests are really fun. I'm not joking, it really is fun....

I have to say that I see more and more people unsubscribing from WoW saying to themselves "what's the point?" I totally empathize, and unsubscribed from the game (a long time ago) for the same reasons. It has nothing to do with the game itself, as the actual framework of the game is the best on the market. It's just a matter of content, or lack thereof.

There are a few features being released in a patch before BC that I have my eye on, as they may influence the game more than people think. However, I have to agree with most when they say that BC is just more of the same. I don't really see reducing raid groups to 25 people changing the fact that we're still being forced to raid.

I've also played Guild Wars quite a bit, and I participated in the original beta. The game is okay, but it's definitely NOT all it's cracked up to be. People go on and on about how amazing the PvP is, but I wouldn't know because I have to suffer through the horrific PvE grouping to get to it all. The community in the game is very poor, and the game is quite simply dying.

Bro bro bro... you just dissed Blizzard big time by the sounds of it.  Take it easy, dont be so hard on them, so wat some people will play the 2 months or w/e till BC comes out, WoW is huge all over the world.  I find WoW really fun, and you make it sound like quests and BG's in WoW suck big time.  They are still quite fun, trying to reach to get what you want in ranks or getting to that next lvl, sometimes its really fun also.  But i do agree a little bit with you.  I understand where your coming from, and I am waiting for christmas to come around and I'm g ettin GuildWars also, maybe I'll see ya there.  Anyways, peace brothers and others!

Personally, I'm betting on March being the release date of BC, not January...

But, its not a big deal, have decided to go back to one of my old games (DAOC) for a few months and mess around in the BG's and what not.... when BC finally gets here...I'll be ready for another change...

I agree it's not that big of a deal.  However, I do think a lot of people are already burnt out on the content we have and Blizzard might have needed to supply their gamers with an expansion faster than what they are.  You need to give people content before they are entirely tired of the old stuff.  That's how you lose people, or at least, one of the ways. (I refer to content here as new zones, new dungeons, new innovation, etc, not "content" patches)

It's my view Blizzard is taking a big risk on an already dying game. I'm already looking for a new MMORPG because they delayed Burning Crusade AGAIN. Yeah, World of Warcraft was fun when it was new and there was a lot to do. But now their game is old. Maybe the expansion will give them another year at best, but they should know by now people won't wait.

well sorry that's bullsshit imo, so you think it's ok that you are 'forced' to make another character since you can't do anything anymore with your first character? and doing the same quests and instance up to lvl 60 and then getting stuck at the same position with your previous char ......

seems someone doesn't understand wat mmorpgs are ....

MMO's aren't just about the content the devs give you.  If your tired of the game, than your tired of it.  Move on let bygones be bygones.  I quit the game 9 months after it was released and just came back a few months ago.  Not necessarily because I love the game, but I do enjoy playing it with my friends and that's good enough for me.

I was so upset at the delay, I canceled my account and was going to wait until the BC was released to renew it.
Then I realized I was being silly, and I renewed it. I've decided to join a small guild and help new players get to 60. I'd rather help someone in ZF and ST instead of raiding for gear that I'll throw away after the expansion. That is what is keeping me going.

The reason why Burning Crusade has been delayed may be because they want to polish and add more content but I think they did that strategically since for the time being WoW has NO competitors at all. With the big hype around Vanguard and since it's coming out in january, I found it smart for Blizzard to delay it.

i'm happy you found a game you like, just a few questions.

have you ever done anything beyond ZG?

have you ever pvped as part of a group rather then try to pug your way up the ranks?

did you even have a group of friends playing with you?

I have to think that delaying BC is gonna cut into Blizz's money at least some.... The biggest age group that plays wow is the 18-22 crowd from numbers I've seen. (well, that was a year ago... maybe it's all teenagers in korea now?).... Anyway, consider the COLLEGE crowd. A week off around Thanksgiving, 2+ weeks off around Christmas. I have several college aged friends that cancelled in late summer (for school) and were just waiting to crank back up with xpack during these 3+ weeks of free time. A small sample I know; but it seems reasonable that it's representative of what a lot of players were planning on for the holiday season.

Of course Blizz has no real competition, so they can probably get away with it, right? (well, at least in the mmo-genre... lots of single-player RPGs coming out now though)
