SB question.

PanossianPanossian Member Posts: 94
Plan on dloading the game tonight and had some character class
questions. Coming from 3 years of Daoc and want to try a diff style
PvP, the 8v8 is starting to get a bit old. This would be my first time
playing SB.

I play at odd times of the day and tend to be a more solo player while
doing the leveling grind.  What class/skill combo's tend to solo
well/fast.

Thanks

Well, you're gonna have to get a guild to get anywhere in this game. Else, it will be extremely tedious, esecpially for someone who is new.

Any vampire caster is pretty good for solo lvling, as are furies. Wizards, warlocks (mage), sentinels, and druids are OK too, though for most of them lvling gets easier as they become higher level.

I'd suggest posting this at the forums at chronicle.ubi.com for a better/more thorough answer.

    Id suggest NOT playing shadowbane.

I dont care who here decides that Im not allowed to speak ill of there favorite game, Im going to speak my mind.

Its click to move, there is way too much trash talking and the pvp is lame. Shadowbane was my first mmo. I tried to come back and just didnt care for it at all

99 percent of the pvp you experience in shadowbane will not be fair.
What I mean by that is, you will either be doing the ganking or getting ganked.

Sieges and city banes are the only two kinds of pvp that have the remote possibility of being anything close to fair. And even in those situations people whine and cry on the boards because other guilds bring more people into there nation so they dont lose there city. Immagine that, a guild that brings in more people so they dont lose all that hard work /shock

If you must play shadowbane then Ill reccomend a couple classes.

Vamp mage assassins are popular but personally I never cared for the class.

Clothie Human Huntress specced right is a very potent class.

Clothie Nightstalkers are also very good. <---I reccomend this one most :)

    Listen to anything awakened says.

Human Crusaders and dwarf crusaders another good class.

I dont have the patience to explain all these classes in detail but Ill give you two links that will give you some good ideas.

Prime example of someone who got ganked in SB, sent tons of hate tells to his killer, and then quit the game, thinking that all of SB is the same.

The reason people suggest vamp casters is 'cause they are easy to level and dont cost a whole lot to train. Cloth huntesses and clothstalkers are both very gear dependent IMO, so I wouldn't suggest making one.

Oh the typical response. Not surprised.
Someone says something bad about your game and you claim they got ganked and quit.
You must of missed the spot where I said Shadowbane was my first mmo. FYI-I played shadowbane upon release and much later. Regardless of when and how long I played SB, the game is lacking.

I just have to ask, your 18? So when the game was released you were 13-14 and for the last 4 and a half years youve been playing shadowbane?

Just because you cant afford a better computer, cant figure out how to find a free UO shard or are too poor to pay for a better game is no reason to bash me because I dont like shadowbane.

As to your thoughts about vamp casters. It is nice not having to worry about mana but gear isnt hard to come by. Just make friends with someone who owns a city, gain there trust, run a shop for them and walla, you not only have a comrade in game but you have access to rolled gear, free repairs and possibly some spending money from running a shop.
