I always feel sad when everyone starts ragging on some kid that is trying to at least do SOMETHING. Sure they may not always approach it the way we "grown-ups" think they should but come on people. How many 14 years olds are doing NOTHING.

What exactly is he "doing"? You said "he's doing something" but to me it doesn't look like he's "doing" anything other than trying to get people to create a game for him.
The guy I was working on a MMORPG with (we expected it to take a couple years... but turned out to be about 5 or 6yrs worth of work for 2 ppl and we eventually dropped it after 8 months) had already been programming in C++ for 3yrs by the time he was 14. To me it doesn't look like he's actually "doing" anything.
